Rating: Summary: Not only for experienced quilters! Review: Being a very new quilter, not knowing better, I purchased this book having seen Ms Kaempfer demonstrate construction of a quilt that is featured in the opening of the TV program AND because it's paper foundation pieced quilts. The most difficult part of making the quilt was selection the fabric (beacuse of my ignorance in the craft!!!)- which the book VERY CLEARLY explains. Thanks to this book I learned a great deal about color values and once finished I was totally amazed at what I had done. This is a fantastic book and any new quilter will be very proud to make a quilt from it. The colored photos and nothing but inspiring. It should be one's library of quilting books!!!
Rating: Summary: A great quilting how-to book for an experienced paper-piecer Review: You may not recognise the traditional log cabin pattern when you see it made up, but this book will give you careful instructions on how to create the impressive looks seen in many art quilts. Not for the beginner - but opens up many ideas and options for a little more experienced quilter.
