Summary: The place to start your research on lofts
Review: I recently checked out half a dozen books from the library on lofts. This one stands out as the best place to start for someone beginning research on the subject. It presents the history and current trends of the loft phenomenon, as well as ideas for designing a space. There are many very different examples explored in the book, with great photographs to illustrate the concepts. The divergent ways you can treat a space is almost overwhelming, yet this book does a good job of simplifying and exploring many avenues. After reading this book, you'll probably have an idea of the particular direction you want to go, and then you can find other books that are more specialized. For an excellent overview and introduction to the loft, this is a great place to start.
