When I was a kid, I always used to search my dad's architectural library, and of the most to my interest was / and still is the Islamic Patterns. I'm a physician, researcher and a statistician now in which I deal with, and on a daily basis, high dimensional data structure in the medical data mining / knowledge discovery research area looking for logical patterns.

What I like the most about the author's stile is his logical inference from start to end. It's a pure mathematical art that could possibly be used into solving solutions in hierarchical data structure.

The book offers very unique and useful 4 appendices on arrangement of the elements of spatial order, multiple 1-2-3 etc. order filling solids, definitions and the 12 df.

It's a job well done that can be used universally.

Review: That this book is back in print is a gift to the world. It's a completely thorough and wonderful trip through various 2d and 3d geometries and patterns. The drawings can be appreciated just on an aesthetic level, or can be delved into deeply. A rare book.
