Summary: Mary Gilliatt's Complete Room by Room Decorating Guide
Review: Noted interior designer Gilliatt has dispensed decorating advice to do-it-yourselfers for over 30 years in close to 40 books. Here she provides decorating suggestions for every room of the home-including hallways, home offices, and patios-with advice on lighting, flooring, window treatments, walls, furnishings, and accessories to create a comfortable, attractive decor. Color photographs depict a sophisticated look of a variety of decorating styles-e.g., modern, ethnic, and country. However, despite the updated styles found here, amateurs will probably prefer Gilliatt's The Complete Book of Home Design, whose easy-to-use format is more accessible. Recommended for academic and large interior design collections.
