Summary: Feng shui for dummies.
Review: Having read other material on feng shui I can really appreciate simple answers. Fortunately for me my homes feng shui originally is not too bad. I would find it ridicules to place mirrors all over the house and yard with bamboo flutes and wind chimes everywhere. I guess you cannot find an easy solution if you build your house like at least 1/3 of American homes. I recommend this book to those looking for a new home. And I would tell those with a home requiring dozens of mirrors etc to move!

Summary: Good, but not Great
Review: I am a little mixed about the book. One on hand it is excellent for giving down-to-earth, easy to understand Feng Shui principles. On the other hand, it fails to mention many important aspects about Feng Shui itself, such as the Elements. The book talks about what to do when the energy for a certain room is negative because of certain placements like the kitchen or the bathroom. But it fails to talk about the elements of each room and how to balance them. In fact the book recommends bamboo for nearly every "treatment", but that is really impractical because it doesn't even explain the elements. The elements of water is briefly discusses, but the others: fire, air, metal, and wood arent even mentioned. I was very discouraged when I read the book and found this out. Please if you are looking for a book on Feng Shui, find another one.

Summary: Best Feng Shui book around!
Review: I am facinated by the principles of feng shui, but have been confused by other books I have read on the subject. This book gets to the point without rambling about philosophy. I want to know how to apply feng shui techniques to my home, I really don't care about the history, etc. This book is a simple, straightforward look at feng shui. I finally "get it"!!

Summary: An excellent book
Review: I found this book really clear, easy to read and concise. If there's one Feng Shui book to get, this is it.

Summary: Mightily disappointed
Review: I must admit to being mightily disappointed with this book. I have heard of the spread of this "Geo-mancy", and am rather appalled that it is gaining ground in the West, where we have spent a thousand years throwing off the shackles of primitive witch-doctoring. I thought that this book was "Feng Shui is for Dummies", but instead it is about the primitive practice instead.

So, if you are a fool, and have some money you wish to be parted from buy this book.

Summary: Well researched, no-nonsense approach to Feng Shui
Review: I was delighted to find this book well researched and well written, given the complex and often oversimplified subject. Provides historical overview and very detailed how-tos for assessing your home, office, and building site. And provides a very detailed approach to Chinese astrology. Tries to provide insight in the thinking and philosophical concepts behind Feng Shui, including the i ching. Steers you away from what the authors consider bogus feng shui practioners. Takes the whole subject very seriously--refreshing.

Summary: it was a supplement
Review: I've been reading a lot about feung shui. I immediately fell in love with this book when I read this at BORDERS. But when I actually got it and read certain chapters that pertain to my needs, I didn't see how valuable this book came to be any more. It was a supplement to my other book "move your stuff, change your life" but if i didn't have another book, this book wouldn't do any good for me. I liked how the author went into the intention with feung shui and how you can use it to empower where you want to go in your life. But, I'm sorry, I ultimatley can't say that this book did wonders for me because it didn't.

Summary: Great for beginners and practitioners alike.
Review: I've worked with David Kennedy on three houses over two years. Each house was bigger and better than the last, a testament to the feng shui advice I received. I've learned a lot from David, studied with Profess Lin Yun, David's teacher, and have read many feng shui books. This is the best resource I've found. I use it to refresh my memory of details on cures I know. It reminds me of cures I forgot . And it has taught me new cures and principles. Anyone can benefit from the knowledge generously given in this book. Many thanks for a truly worthwhile effort.

Summary: Incredibly Good Do-It-Yourself, Step-by-Step Book!!!
Review: If only I'd purchased this book sooner. Believe me, there is more clear and practical information in this book then in the many workshops I've attended, costing me hundreds of dollars.
In trying to learn feng shui, I have been frustrated by the lack of clarity surrounding this subject. Other books I own, review a lot of history and theory, but lack when it comes down to implementation or assume that you know more about the subject then is actually written in the book. Not this book.
Feng Shui for Dummies is well written, has humor and leads you step-by-step in each situation, just what a do-it-yourself book is intended to do.
This book does what it is suppose to do, teaches the novice how to implement basic feng shui one step at a time. HOORAH!
If your the kind of person that purchases a do-it-yourself book to get things done, not to be bogged down with theory then this is the book for you.

Summary: Excellent book! Entertaining, easy to read & very helpful!!!
Review: It is very easy reading (thank you), entertaining (more gratitude) and very helpful. The book has plenty of diagrams and detailed steps allowing me (the reader) to follow along with ease. Finally, after many purchases, I have found the Feng Shui book you can actually start using within several minutes, what a joy! I learned so much in such a short amount of time and I have already benefited from your teaching at my job with amazing effects on my work. My colleagues at work were all amazed at the difference. Be careful though, once your colleagues start flipping through this book, it may be a while before you get it back. I keep a second copy at home!
