Summary: how could you not love this ?
Review: Kate Spade is an extroidinary woman who has come so far and is stepping over the boundaries of fashion designers into a world that another review feels " is to emily post" i think it is awfully crazy to assume that Ms.Spade would ever copy off of someone as dignified as Emily Post. I say Bravo to Kate Spades new book !

Summary: "Yeah, I'm Styling" - Kate Spade
Review: This book is nothing more than lists compiled by Kate to show how totally cool and styling she is. What better way to broadcast this message than to write a book about how great your tastes are. Need I say more? There is nothing new to be learned in this book, except oh yeah, according to Andy, "Style can't be purchased." Nevermind that any article of clothing mentioned in the book costs mucho dinero, and anything with a Kate Spade label costs big bucks, too.

I would advise anyone wanting to learn good fashion advice to pass on this book.

Summary: Ideas for Fashion and Style
Review: This cute little book has many useful visual ideas and stylish prompts. Ideal for someone who has no sense of color or fashion. Though this book is a nice resource offering some clever ideas to those of us who have a sense of style. The sizing charts are also practical even though each designer tends to have a different perception of the dimensions of a size six figure.

I enjoyed my first reading of the book and like the watercolor illustrations. Admittedly, I won't be referring to many of the pages again since I prefer to use this guide for outfit brainstorming. Mrs. Spade does try to get the message across to "Dress by your own rules." The whole thing reminds me of a book I had as a child titled, "I Spy" with drawings of various household objects and their words. Simple, but entertaining none-the-less. The simplicity of the book jacket is appealing and Kate Spade's attempt to be the Emily Post of fashion is admirable.

Summary: Contrived Kate (and Andy) on Style
Review: When I first heard that Kate Spade was delving into the world of book publishing I was skeptical and I was correct. After reading "Style" and the other 2 in the series, "Manners" and "Occasions" I have come to the conclusion that Kate should stick to what she knows, designing handbags and accessories. While the illustrations are quite charming the book lacks substance. These books would be better titled "Kate and Andy's Favorite Things" or better yet "How to be the Perfect WASP Wannabe". It's all a bit too contrived for me. My advice would be to save your money and buy a handbag instead.
