Rating: Summary: Waste of Money Review: I agree with the other reviewer. I bought all of the books in this series and am shocked at how much of the advice has been taken from previous authors on these topics. She is copying classics like Emily Post and simply re-wording the text. Except for the cute drawings, this series is a waste of money. If you want to know how to do things "correctly", read Letitia Baldridge's "The New Manners For the '90's". It covers everything and is written by a woman with the education and experience to know of which she speaks! Not someone who using her fashion connections to flood the magazines and talk shows with her "discovery" of this information.
Rating: Summary: Cute book but needs more substance. Review: I bought this book expecting more fashion tips. There are several useless facts about how Kate finds style in everyday objects. The book was interesting even though it wasn't what I expected. If you really want a book about fashion and only fashion I would heed the words of other reviews. If you decide to get the book I recommend waiting for the paperback or buying a used version.

Rating: Summary: Nice. Review: I expected more of this book, really. It is nice and has great watercolor drawings on it, as well as good tips to maintain your cloth and jewelry in good shape. On the otherhand, I found it to simple and sort off uncomplete in reference to different fashion styles. It only contains Kate Spade's kind of fashion. Nevertheless, it is fun to read it while you drink a cup of tea , but do not make yourself great expectations about it!!
Rating: Summary: Style you say? Kate Spade has NO style! Review: I must be missing something but I cannot for the life of me figure out what makes Kate Spade a "style icon". This little book is just that, a little, nothing book. Kate Spade will never have the style or class of Jacqueline Kennedy or Audrey Hepburn. She is nothing more then a little WASP princess who happened to design a handbag that people now go into debt to buy! Having read the book and watched her segment on the "Oprah" show I can honestly say that I fail to see her style. Her home is a total color disaster and looks as if it was decorated out of a rubbish heap. Save your money on this book and if you must read it, borrow it from the library!
Rating: Summary: Good Read Review: I recieved this book as a gift, and enjoyed it very much. I am a High School Fashion student, and found it very helpful in deciding on colors, patterns, and shapes of the outfits I designed. I found it a fun read, with many good books, movies, and tips reccomended.
Rating: Summary: Hello?? Is there any substance here? Review: I'm a fashion design student and bought this book hoping to glean some information from it, however, I found nothing worth my while in the entire book. This is basically an inventory of what Kate Spade thinks is great about her own wardrobe and doesn't tap into any longstanding style concepts. It strikes me as being very self-indulgent on her part. As if we all care what her favorite colors and shoes are. Beyond tittering on about her own wardrobe, she makes mention of a few style standards, but ones we already heard of a million times, like how great Audrey Hepburn's look is in Breakfast at Tiffany's. Don't waste your money on this one!!
Rating: Summary: Where's the content? Review: Kate and Andy blew this opportunity by producing a painfully anemic brag book which is less of a style manual and more of an inventory of Kate's wardrobe. If you already love fashion and know something about it, there's nothing new in this insipid read. Vapid quotes from Andy such as "When a shoe is pretty or elegant it communicates to me that the woman is pretty sexy" help rob this brief read of any real thought given to the concept of style, making it more like a free-association of passing thoughts on the subject.
Rating: Summary: Create a Style All of Your Own! Review: Kate Spade did a wonderful job to help you incorporate her ideas, use of different colors, and creating new looks just by changing the accessories so that you can create a style all of your own to match who you authentically are. Your style can change from day-to-day, or be the same all year around. From the beautiful illustrations, you can improvise on the ideas shown if you are on a tight budget. Great advice is given on how to care for classic pieces in your wardrobe, including jewelry, so they are preserved over time. The great thing about this book is how you can completely update simple and elegant wardrobe pieces by accessorizing in a completely different way, including going from the office to an evening out. Just as you would buy a book on table settings for different occasions, or home accessories to update the look of your home, in this book you have a wonderful resource to update, change, or improvise how you dress yourself. The most important thing to remember is that true style comes from the inside out, and the most important part of that style is your self worth, and confidence to be who you authentically are. Barbara Rose, author of, 'Individual Power' and 'If God Was Like Man'
Rating: Summary: how could you not love this ? Review: Kate Spade is an extroidinary woman who has come so far and is stepping over the boundaries of fashion designers into a world that another review feels " is to emily post" i think it is awfully crazy to assume that Ms.Spade would ever copy off of someone as dignified as Emily Post. I say Bravo to Kate Spades new book !
