Summary: I lke this textbook!!
Review: After seeing the popularity of this book by Sham our college has adopted this book for the Pro/E class. I have read some chapters of this book and i am impressed by the work the author has done. Learning Pro/E Wildfire is no more tough. The book is complete for learning Pro/E wildfire.
I am hoping to write to Sham for his wonderful work on Pro/E Wildfire. Also, I am expecting some technical support from him.
The book starts with a chapter on Sketch mode of Pro/E Wildfire. None of the books i have read has discussed Sketch mode which i feel is the first stepping stone of solid modeling.
The flow of text through the book is very good. It is very easy to understand.
At the end i would say that my coming class on Pro/E Wildfire is made much easy and we are hoping to have lot of fun and at the same time learn Pro/E Wildfire using this book.

Summary: Learn Wildfire efficiently
Review: Among the seven titles on ProE Wildfire available on this site i found this book by Prof. Sham Tickoo an excellent text. This book explains solid modeling while giving stress on the basics of solid modeling. THis book contains the sketcher environment that i could not find in any of the books. Moreover the chapters in the book are arranged in such a manner so that it becomes very easy to learn Wildfire and at the same time learn it efficiently.

Summary: Excellent Text
Review: First of all I'll start by saying that this book is the best in the series so far. I loved the flow of text with graphics. I do have to say that learning material that comes with this text and is available on the author's website is of much use to me. The author of the book has explained the sketch mode also which i did not find in any of the books available. The Drawing modeis also well explained with some good tutorials.

I'll end by saying that while I am a very medium learner, I was surprised by the fact that i have started creating models and hope to take up some projects too. I guess I am ready for this one!

Summary: Excellent book on Wildfire
Review: I am a CAD Instructor in a community college. Recently I came to know about the release of the Wildfire book by Sham Tickoo. Similar to his style of writing books on other CAD packages, this book is also very easy to understand. In this book, there are number of tutorials that help my students to create complex models very easily. The contents of this book cover all the basic steps of designing. I would recommend this text to all the students wishing to learn Wildfire.

Summary: Good Book
Review: I am an instructor and teaching ProE. The book by Prof. Sham tickoo is a great book. He has explained ProE in a very simple language. The book is full of tutorials where you can learn ProE by actually working on your computer.

The study material provided on his website www. cadcim.com is also great. He has provided so much of free material on his website for faculty and students. Learning ProE using his book is much fun. Moreover, he provides free technical support to the buyers of his books. At last i would say that it is the excellent text that anyone is searching for to learn ProE. I would recommend this book to the ProE community.

Summary: Must buy for Wildfire users
Review: I am using Pro/ENGINEER since release 2000i and when I got Wildfire I thought I will learn it myself. But after playing with it for some time, I realized that I need some text to refer to. Then I got hold of this book. It is one of the best books available that someone can use to learn Wildfire. This book describes the solid modeling tools in Wildfire in detail with a lot of images and the language used is easily understandable. While working on engineering projects, I find this book very handy and I can refer to the explanation for modeling tools that are generally needed for most of the mechanical engineering projects. In addition to the explanation to the modeling tools, there are tutorials in the book with step-by-step explanation. A number of tips and notes are given in this book that helped me in increasing my efficiency. By using this book I not only learned to use Wildfire but also learned to use it efficiently. The Detailing and Drafting portion of Wildfire is also explained with lot of details, making it easy for me to generate various types of drawing views of assemblies and solid models.
The chapter on surface modeling that is available for free download also seems to be good with 2 tutorials although I have not started learning them. But seeing the images they seem to be good.

Summary: Good Book...I liked it
Review: I bought two books, one by Louis Gary and the other by Sham Tickoo. Both had good reviews. The book by Louis Gary was concise and well presented. The book from Sham Tickoo was NOT!.

The book from Louis Gary was out a doubt the best-written introduction book on Pro/E I have ever seen or read. The Pro/Engineer Wildfire Designers book by Sham Tickoo was one of the worst written books I have ever seen or read. Day vs. Night. ... few step-by-step approaches, etc.

Sham Tickoo does not cover parametric modeling very well and there are few step-by-step approaches in the book. I would not recommend the book by Sham Tickoo.

Summary: Just does not have it ...

Summary: I wish I could rate this book with a zero star rating
Review: I do not think that Professor Sham Tickoo is writing his own books, but I do think that he is writing his own reviews. I think that he has hired a group of inept people to write his books............

I found various command, menu errors alone with spelling errors and VERY bad grammar, "even for an Engineer". In his book, he tells the reader that you will be learning Autodesk Inventor. Give me a break. This is NOT a five star book.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Finally i found a good text
Review: I have been referring to so many books that worked only to a degree but were not able to teach Pro/E so that i could start creating models by myself. I couldn't wait to get off those textbooks. Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire for Designers by Sham Tickoo is like a complete book for solid modeling using Pro/E. Its like a Pro/E Bible that I used with success. This book also deals with concepts of using Pro/E so that you not only learn to use proE but also learn it to use efficiently. I have learned Pro/E and have started working on engineering projects.

At last i would like to recommend this book who wants to start a career in design field which is an upcoming field.
