Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: The only book you need to pass the PMP exam Review: I bought several other books, but Rita's book is the only one that really made a difference and the only one you need to pass the exam. Go get it and get your PMP.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Efficient and effective PMP preparation tool Review: This 244 book fills in the gaps in the PMBOK 2000, and also provides complete coverage of professional responsibility topics and requirements. It's designed as a 120 hour course of instruction, and is focused on the important knowledge factors that you'll encounter on the PMP exam. It provides clear and complete explanations of the PMBOK 2000 core concepts without the fuzziness or verbosity that characterizes the PMBOK. It also contains exercises and practice exams to help you prepare, and gives tips on what to study, including material that will be on the exam that is not covered in the PMBOK. What I like about this guide is the lack of fluff, the focus on learning the exam and the preparatory advice that is given.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Great tool to prepare for the PMP! Review: I used the PMP Exam Prep (2000 edition) as one of my primary study tools to prepare for the PMP exam. I studied about 10 hours per week over the course of 3 months and passed the exam in February. I did not take any formal training classes. The book helped me quickly identify the areas where I was weak (Earned Value, Network Diagrams) and needed to drill on. By the time I went through the book for the third time, I felt really confident in my ability to pass the PMP. There are lots of great tips and tricks in the book that help you to identfy the most important areas for you to focus on. I also used the ESI practice exams and CDs and found them useful. The ESI practice exams were remarkably similar to the questions on the exam. I highly recommend Rita Mulcahy's book!

Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: PMP Exam Prep Review: I was very confident in my knowledge of the PMBOK. I have close to 16 yrs PM experience. This publication filled a HUGE gap, relative to what was actually on the exam vs. what is in the PMBOK. Ms. Mulcahy's insite, exercises and practice tests got me there. I passed the PMP exam in November 2001.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Just passed the PMP!! It works.... Review: This book is definitely the 1 study guide that all PMP candidates should read and study before attempting the test. I used this book and the PMBOK which this book refers to, and passed on my first attempt with >80% correct answers. I recommend following Rita's prescribed method of making atleast 3 passes through this book before the exam. Also, while the PMBOK by itself can be daunting, by referring to it when suggested in Rita's book, can help you focus in on the critical pages you must understand/memorize for the exam. The exam questions were a lot harder than those in the book, but if you have learned and understood the content in Rita's book, you have everything you need to get through the tough questions...it just may take you a bit longer than the practice exams did.
Rating: ![3 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-3-0.gif) Summary: Mulcahy PMP exam prep book review Review: I actually used both the second and third edition to prepare for the exam. This book helped me in passing the PMP exam, but it certainly was not the self-proclaimed panacea that I had heard about. The formatting and presentation of the book were less than professional, but some of the comments and tricks were right on. I would recommend purchasing the book; however, for the $(...) purchase price I expected better formatting, presentation, and proof-reading.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Don't waste your time elsewhere - Rita's book is the best Review: For passing the test, this book is all you need (plus the PMBOK). I took 4 hours for the test and got a 166/200. I had used some of the ESI exam prep material;however, you only need Rita's book. As other reviewers have said, she tells you what is important on the test and not necissarily brought out just be reading the PMBOK. She's brings out the PMI-ism's. I had 7- 8 math questions on my test. I went through the book 3 times to get all the questions right and then a 4th to make sure I had read and understood all of the topics/items in the PMBOK she emphasizes.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: No Question, You Must Have It Review: This is a very cost effective way to BE SURE you know what the PMP Exam is all about. The insight will save you days of studying and take the worry out of the whole process.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Best Workbook for PMP Review: Rita's examples are easy to understand, especially her explanations and worksheets for earned value. She reduces complex concepts into easy to understand tenets that are needed to pass this highly subjective test. She teaches you how to think like the PMI thinks! Exceptional book. As a PMP instructor, I always recommend this workbook to my students.
