Summary: Insightful look into the world of Alzheimer's disease
Review: This was an emotionally challenging book for me to read. I also have a parent experiencing Alzheimer's disease.

If you are in denial that your loved one will ever get to the stage the author describes, then you might not think this book will be relevant to you. Although each Alzheimer's/dementia case is unique, there are still many similarities. Numerous times I found myself identifying with the various scenarios.

The author accomplishes the goals set in her prologue: to help you, the reader, make sense of your struggles; to assure you that you are not alone in this nightmare; and to help you see that you have not failed your loved one.

A refreshing change from clinical books on the subject, I feel it increased my knowledge and awareness of the disease. It also deepened my compassion for all who anguish over caring for someone with this disease.
