Rating: Summary: A good read Review: As a Psychologist in Ireland I have found this book to be an effective tool in explaining an area which is often difficult even for professionals to discuss with clients. Gael Lindenfield taps into a very important area which has been overlooked for too long. She is able to illustrate the concepts in an easy manner with lots of good tips on how to create effective change. I suppose for me what makes this book so effective and important for me is that she also uses this information herself. At talk about two years ago in Dublin I was shocked to hear about how she lost her daughter in a sudden accident at the onset of this book. At this talk (and in the book)she had the courage to speak about her experience with this tragedy, and how she was able to manage by using this information. I admire her honesty. What I believe this book offers is hope from someone who has been through difficult situations but has the courage to share her learnings with others. In other words, I feel she knows first hand what she is presenting which I'm sure is not the case for many of the other "Self-Help" authors. I hope you enjoy the read as much as I did - be warned the first 40 pages can be tedious with the discussion of feelings and biology. Still, the information does help to explain a lot.
