Rating: Summary: Book seems dated Review: I have read several of the books out on this topic and find this one to be pretty dated. While some of the information is still valid (and probably always will be), for my money and time I found other, more current books, to be more helpful. Especially lacking in this book is any research that supports the authors opinions. Plus, the advice seems too general to be much help. I guess there is a reason it was out of print for so long.
Rating: Summary: Book seems dated Review: My children have taken music lessons for over 7 years now, yet I was able to learn a great deal from this book. It helps you all the way from deciding which instrument your child should play, how to find a good teacher, how to help your children practice, what to do when they want to quit, and even how to help them if they want a career in music. Most of all, Patrick Kavanaugh is concerned with helping children develop a true love for music in order to enrich their lives forever. To top that off, he comes from a truly biblical perspective and adds pertinent Scripture quotes for inspiration and guidance. Bravo!

Rating: Summary: Amazing book for EVERY Christian Parent! Review: This is a truly amazing book. I've recommended it to many parents and future parents--musical or non-musical. The book lays things out like they are, giving practical advice to all parents, even if you don't have a clue about music. I wish this book was still in print today!
