Rating: Summary: A simple guidebook to applying ancient Chinese principles Review: Feng Shui For The Nursery by feng shui expert Debra Keher is a simple guidebook to applying ancient Chinese principles of harmony, organization, coloring and positive mood-setting to a nursery room. Written in plain and simple terms for the beginner, Feng Shui For The Nursery covers what colors to use, where to position the crib, the magic of mirrors, balancing the five elements in one's furnishings, and more. A direct, easy-to-follow source of ideas and well-meaning guidelines, especially for parents who distrust the common habit of simply slathering the nursery in blue or pink.
Rating: Summary: Great Book Review: I just bought this book today and couldn't put it down. It's a quick and fun read. A great gift for any mom-to-be, especially those interested in creating the ultimate space for their newborn. I came away with a lot of good ideas such as how to introduce a variety of natural elements (things that represent water, earth, etc) in the room. I know now too that it it is best to place the crib flush against the wall instead of angled in the corner (where I was thinking of puting it). I also have a new location for the bassenette (no longer by the window). There were good suggestions about use of color, where to create a learning space and much more. This book provided a clear, concise and enjoyable read of practical feng shui rules wtihout being overly dogmatic. Cute illustrations too. Enjoy!
