Summary: Funny look at parenthood is a perfect gift for dads
Review: "Fumbling thru Fatherhood" is a hilarious look at parenthood from a top-notch comic writer. I've been reading Jared Fiel's humor column in my local newspaper for the past several years. In it, he finds amusement in everyday life, from shopping for clothes with his boss to the joys of baseball. His best columns are those when he reports on the antics of his two young sons. He sees the humor in parenting and his writing makes people giggle, chuckle, guffaw and even laugh out loud. Now, people who can't read his column can be treated to the amusing adventures of Fiel's Files. Reading this book is like finding a literary cross between "Calvin & Hobbes" and "Baby Blues." And collected together in book form, you'll find a touching look at one man's experience raising two boys. It's the perfect gift for Father's Day, or for any dad's birthday, or for the dad-to-be in the couple about to have their first baby. It's a winner!

Summary: A humorous, realistic look at parenting
Review: I loved this book. It's a light-hearted look at all the things that happen when you are the parent(s) of young children. You can tell that the author really loves his kids. He writes in a way that makes you feel like you are a friend of his. I found myself recognizing the situations and thinking, "That's exactly how it was at my house!" I would recommend this to everyone from mothers to fathers to grandparents. Reading it definitely put a sparkle in my day.

Summary: A great, lighthearted read - even if you don't have kids
Review: Jared has the ability to write intelligently and yet sound like your next-door neighbor, the one who constantly mutters to himself about weeds in the yard.
His stories about his kids are so funny, they seem too good to be true, and yet they are so REAL, you realize no one could make them up.
But my biggest complement is I don't have kids, have never changed a messy diaper and am looking to my days as a parent with as much trepidation as excitement, and yet I still enjoyand relate to his column.

Summary: Outloud Laughs!
Review: What Fun! I thoroughly enjoyed this collection of writings about parenthood, kids, and the often insane things we say and do as parents. I saw my own kids and my own experiences. Jared Fiel writes with a conversational style and dry wit that has a quick pace and yet gives the reader the opportunity to relate to each story. This should be next to the required reading of all the "What to Expect" books for parents.
