Summary: A wonderful way to pass on cherished memories of your life.
Review: Easier to use than a blank journal or diary, this book asks specific questions regarding your life as a child, teen, young woman, etc. including questions such as "tell me about your first kiss," and "tell me about a special person who made a difference in your life." In addition to well thought out questions that would be of interest to your children at almost any age, the book is beautifully designed and easy to use.

Summary: Brings back memories to share
Review: I am in my late 50's and thought it about time to put together some thoughts on my life. This book is beautifully done, in a wonderful format. I have now given 12 of them as gifts.

Summary: A must have for every mom!
Review: I stumbled across this book in the Christian bookstore that I work in. I was intrigued by the words on the cover, "Your Life Story in Your Own Words". I thought of my mom and my grandmothers--may times have I heard their stories but I do not have anything tangible. I picked up (4) books--one for my mom, one for each of my grandmothers, and one for my boyfriend's mom. I gave one to each of them. This is a way to record your life & legacy for your child & for future generations--something to leave behind so future generations will know who you were. If you are sentimental and love your mom, grandmother, or perhaps another mother-figure in your life, I highly recommend this book! God bless!

Summary: Fine if you are a very devout Christian...
Review: I was given a copy of this journal as a gift, and I have to say, I'll probably be leaving some blank pages, or writing some things that the average parent wouldn't in the pages of this book. Too many of the questions are centered around religion, and not enough of them about other aspects of one's life. If sharing your religious views with posterity is a big part of this type of project, it's a fine book, but otherwise, find something else. Not to hurt the feelings of the person who gave this to me, but I'll be finding another journal to fill in the gaps this one leaves...

Summary: Not What I expected
Review: The Amazon review was misleading by its omissions. I bought the book, not knowing it's written for the "serious", Christian, and really is much less valuable for anyone else since so many of the questions are religious- and Christian- oriented. Be fair. Make sure non-religious (and especially non-Christian) customers realize the book solicits answers to questions like "When did you first become a Christian and how did your life change?" "Who gave you your first Bible and how did it influence your life?" "Recall early thoughts about God's love." "What are your childhood memories of interacting with other Christians?" "What Bible character would you most like to meet, and why?" and "Share some insights from Scripture that have guided your spiritual journey." A well-produced book that also includes many other "secular" questions that any Mom can answer in producing a keepsake for her children, but buyer beware: if you're not a Christian and a bible-reader you're going to have a lot of blank pages. Oh yeah, having grown up and lived in city or suburb all my life, this one I loved: "Tell about a canning or harvesting experience." I'm sure for many, this can be a wonderful book but remember, we're not all Christians (and even many who are may not have a favorite passage from Sccripture). I just ask that Amazon be a little more up-front about what the book is, and let the buyer decide if it's for her. Otherwise many (me, for one) will be disappointed with the many inapplicable questions and very annoyed with Amazon for the description that was deceptive by its omissions.

Summary: Great book that your children will cherish forever.
Review: The questions is this book bring back many fond memories. My 4 kids love for me to read them a few pages each night to ''learn'' about what Mommy's room looked like when she was young, or listening to the description of what the house looked like that I grew up in. Its a wonderfully thought out format that allows you to have ''your'' story told for your children, and their children to read. Its a wonderful keepsake.

Summary: Not What I expected
Review: This journal helped me to re-live experiences that I have not thought about in many years, and now I will be able to share those special memories with my daughter. This book also helped me to think about my thoughts and feelings about life in general, and put into words those long-forgotten details that make up my personal story!

Summary: A Wonderful Book
Review: We buried my husband's 90 year old grandmother last week. Two years ago, her son gave her this book at Christmas and asked her to fill it in over the next year. She answered all the questions that pertained to her and the preacher read some of the topics at her funeral. I can't begin to describe how comforting it was to hear what her thoughts were on different things. Like her favorite bible verse, what a wonderful thing to share with her loved ones as we honored her life. This book is now such a treasure. It is in her handwriting and about her life. I recommend this to every mother who has the desire to leave a legacy for her children (which we ALL should).
