Summary: Smart, Friendly -- Kind of Book You Want During Pregnancy!
Review: Great book. It's written in a friendly, easy-to-read style, but is packed with the kind of practical, reassuring, and helpful information a pregnant woman craves. I thought I'd read all there was to read in the various pregnancy books, but this latest edition with writer Paula Ford-Martin has a wealth of new information, and there are many informative tidbits throughout that add to its usefulness. I really found the month by month format particularly helpful and easy to follow. I highly recommend this book, good gift for a newly pregnant friend or family member. (There's also some great info for the father-to-be!)

Summary: Great, if you want to be more scared than you already are
Review: I would NOT recommend this book to anyone who is pregnant for the first time. When you're in a state where you feel a confusing bunch of things and are hungry for information, you need to read materials that will comfort and empower you, NOT books as alarmist and cold as this one. In the first 20 pages alone, there were at least five separate paragraphs of all the horrible things that could happen if you do or don't do one thing or another. When you're in those first stages of pregnancy, when you're nervous enough as it is, you don't need a book to freak you out any more than you already are. Yes, you have to be careful, and knowing what is good and bad for you is important. But there are ways to convey that message (with warmth, humor, or a sense of comfort), and this book doesn't do any of those things.

Review: This book is amazing! It is easy to read and you don't have to be a doctor to understand it. Instead of having to go to 1,000 different places to get the information I needed, I found it all in one place - month after month. It is great. It has been very helpful to me. I highly recommend it!!
