Summary: A glimpse at what it is like inside my child's head
Review: I am always looking for a way to better understand my ADHD child. I am also looking for ways to explain it to others--teachers, other parents, my family. This book is a fantastic tool to that end! It is personal, emotional, scarey, moving. It just may be the best way I have seen in a while to get past denial and the thought that ADHD is something we can dismiss as bad parenting or deliberate bad behavior. It is great to see the postive aspects of ADHD highlighted. Any story that give my child a postive way to look at himself is helpful. We all need that. But finding it for an ADHD kid has not always been easy. Robert Jergen has just made it easier and has lightened my load. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Summary: If you have a kid with ADD, GET THIS BOOK!!!
Review: I don't normally write reviews of books and things. But I have to say that I agree with what everybody has written about this one. The Little Monster growint up with ADD is a great book. I have ADD and it was like I was reading about my own life, but Dr. Jergen made it all make sense. It was like he understood and made me feel okay with have ADD. He also made me get off my ass and stop feeling sorry for myself. The ideas that he gives about how to make ADD work for you and not against you are inspired.

If you have ADD or IF YOU HAVE A KID WITH ADD!!! Read this book. I think all teachers should read it so that they could understand what they say and do can affect kids.

That's my review. Thank's Dr. Jergen. You really changed my life.

Summary: Great Book!
Review: I got this book because my son has ADD and somebody said that it would help me understand him. It did. I read this book in one night and it opened my eyes to what the world is like for my son. It gave me practical and useful strategies that can help us help our son be more successful at school and life. I even contacted the author (his e-mail is in the back of the book) and he was exceedingly helpful. I recommend this book to anybody who has a son or daughter with ADD. I gave my copy to my son's teacher.

Summary: I couldn't put this book down!
Review: I HATE to read!! I have concentration, comprehension and retention problems, but this book was so well written and facinating, that I couldn't put it down. (I don't remember the last time I had read a whole book, and in just a few hours is unheard of in my adult life.)
Great suggestions were given in the book inspired me. I really feel that this book has helped to project myself forward, and will help continue to understand the needs of my son. Thank you, Rob! You are making a difference!

Summary: A must read for ADHDers & the people who love them!
Review: I read this book from cover to cover in less than a day, it was that compelling! Robert Jergen gives a brutally and painfully honest account of what it's like to grow up with ADHD. It took a lot of courage for Dr. Jergen to put himself out there that way, and I appreciate that.
This book helped me to step into my ADHD child's world and see the world through her eyes, something I've not previously been able to do. I may never completely understand how her brain works, but I have a much better understanding now that I've read this book. A big "Thank You!" to Dr. Jergen for sharing himself and his ADHD experience with the rest of us through this book!

Summary: A very good guide to ADHD
Review: I think that this book was very helpful in trying to understand more about ADHD. I read the book for a class project and found it to be very informative and well written. Jergen does a good job of conveying his experiences with the disorder, as well as giving strategies to people who have the disorder in order to succeed in life.

Summary: Best book I've read in years!!!
Review: If it were possible I would give this book more than five stars... This amazing book gives great insight into what it is like to be a person with ADHD. I'm currently doing research on ADHD for one of my college classes, and this book was a great starting point. Additionally, it has helped me understand the behavior of people who have been in my life that have ADHD. Whether you know a great deal about ADHD or were like me and had little knowledge about it, this book can probably teach you more things than any textbook can. The personal accounts of the author really bring you into the situations, they make you feel as if you were living through his eyes. Simply an amazing book! A must-read!!!

Summary: Read this Book!!!
Review: Jergen very generously shares many personal moments from his life in order that those of us without this disorder can get an idea of what it feels like to have adhd.
His story is written with sincerity and humor. It is light, easy reading but beware of some upsetting content. An Adhd childhood is not an easy one.
I recommend this book to anyone who is parenting an adhd child or to anyone who struggles to understand others suffering from this disorder. A good book for teachers too!

Summary: Funny, entertaining, informative and moving!!!!
Review: The Little Monster: Growing Up With ADD is a fantastic book that presents what ADD is from the child's perspective. By telling stories from his childhood the author recounts how ADD affected his life. But best of all he gives several chapters worth of strategies that the author used to overcome ADD and to get his Ph.D. It is very funny, entertaining, informative and moving. It is easy to read and will hold your attention throughout. Like other people who have reviewed this book, I read it in one sitting. This book will be a big help to anybody who has ADD or a child with ADD.
