Summary: What you always wanted to know about mother-in-laws*
Review: (*but were afraid to ask!) If you have a mother-in-law, or hope to become one some day, read this book. It begins by addressing the fundamental challenge of any relationship: differing personality types. Once you have a better understanding of both your personality type and your mother-in-law's, A Change of Heart recreates a very believable mother-in-law relationship in the form of one woman's journal spanning the length of her journey from wife to daughter-in-law to mother to mother-in-law. The occasional frustration, disappointment and hurt in her relationship with her mother-in-law may strike a familiar chord, comforting you with the thought that these difficulties are probably normal. It is also a comfort to "watch" as the young woman matures, both emotionally and spiritually. An added bonus is the eight sessions of a workbook section, perfect for a small group of Christian women or a book club. Many scripture references lend the workbook principles an air of Godly authority and exhortation which can improve other relationships as well... I highly recommend this book for women who want the most out of their relationship with the other woman who loves their husband.

Summary: Surprised at the bible based nature of the book.
Review: I was quite surprised to find this book based very strongly on the study of the bible. A good portion of the book was a bible study program.

This was not at all what I was looking for, and I returned the book. It may suit the needs of some people, but the buyer should be aware of the religious nature of the content of the book.

Summary: A Change of Heart by Andrea Evans, et al
Review: This book is perfect for anyone who wants to improve their relationship with their mother-in-law or daughter-in-law, and would also work well as a small group study. I found the personality test useful in helping me to understand my strengths and weaknesses. This information also shed light on the differences in temperament and personality between me and my mother-in-law. The story portrayed in the journal helped by giving examples I could relate to, and the Bible Study was great. I highly recommend this book!

Summary: A "must read" for the wife struggling with her in-law.
Review: This book is too late for me but I would give anything if I'd had
availble to me, at the time, a book as sensitive as this one.
The insights are straightforward and revealing of both sides of the issue. Written from the Christian perspective it offers a
lot of tools for the possibility of change.
I would recomend it highly to the young wife confronted with
what seems to be an insurmountable problem.
Even without a mother-in-law today, I am reminded that in any
troubling relationship, there are two sides to be considered.
These three authors have done a masterful job with
the subject. It will make a good 8 week study course.
