Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: EMPOWERING - Excellent Resource! Review: HIGHLY RECOMMENDED: If your loved one or someone you love has food allergies, this is an absolute MUST BUY! I have been managing my son's multiple, life-threatening food allergies for three years now and was literally blown-away with the information Linda Coss offers in this book. For those with a little one, this book is especially helpful because you will gain the wisdom of how to plan for situations years before they occur. The content and layout of this book is excellent! It is such an easy read and packed with so much practical information that I immediately purchased two more to send to relatives who will be in our home during the holidays...with their pets. A heartfelt thank you and appreciation for a wonderful book.

It covers numerous important topics to consider when dealing with food allergies and offers great advice and tons of little "tidbits" that you may not think of. I would highly recommend this book to anyone dealing with severe food allergies.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: A Must for Every Parent of an Allergic Child!! Review: I loved this book! Ms. Coss understands, as only a mother who has been there can, the level of detail that must be considered in everyday living to keep our allergic children safe. I found it very useful to have all the information consolidated in one source. This is a book that is easy to use because it is organized by situations so it can be referenced as needed. I read the book cover-to-cover as soon as I got it, and I know I will reference it often in the future as we encounter new situations. I would have loved to have this book when I had to send my son to preschool for the first time. I am glad I have it as we embark on summer camps and social situations where I will not be. My favorite chapters are probably Chapter 10: Travel and Chapter 6: Parenting. We have always loved to travel and it is encouraging to have helpful ideas so we can continue to do so. And I love the reinforcement in the parenting chapter, that I am not alone and other have managed to get through every situation that I will face. This book is a must-have for anyone who deals with an allergic child. Thank you Ms. Coss!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: It's Everything You Need To Know To Sleep Soundly at Night Review: I'm a mother of a severely allergic child. My son has no less than 8 food allergies. As you can imagine, life has been quite a challenge for us. He was diagnosed at 2 months of age, he just turned 2 years old a few months ago. The first book I bought authored by Linda Coss was her--What's to Eat-- cookbook. Our son now enjoys a variety of food, not just cheerios, chips and grape juice. :-) I liked that book so much, I bought this one, --How to Manage Your Child's Life-Threatening...-- It has everything you'll need to know so you can finally sleep peacefully at night. The prospect of a child with food allergies is VERY FRIGHTENING, but Linda's words, her advice, hers and others experiences, all were calming to read. I know I'm not alone, and that --Miracles Do Happen--. The advice ranges from recognizing anaphalaxis to what to tell the school when your child starts school. Her knowledge is extensive in this book, and she speaks from experience--she has allergic children of her own.
I really like that I feel more empowered to help, maybe even save my son now that I've read her book. My pediatrician is great, but has no --practical-- experience, and I don't really know the right questions to ask. Linda has covered EVERYTHING, I may even buy this book for my pediatrician!!! My babysitter, all the grandparents and all aunts and uncles who HOPE to care for Alek someday all have a copy. :-)
I can't say enough about the impact Linda Coss's books have had on me and my family. THANK YOU LINDA!!!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Finally! Practical Advice and Help Review: This book gets down to the critical details of how to keep a child with life threatening food allergies safe. Many people do not understand the serious nature of these allergies and can put children in harms way through inattention to the details. Ms. Coss has written a practical and easy to read guide that should be required reading for every parent, care giver and friend of children with life threatening food allergies.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Very helpful resource for parents Review: This book is very easy to read, very thorough and gives parents all the information they need to keep their food-allergic children safe. It focuses entirely on the practical side of dealing with food allergies - all the details of what to do and how to do it. It covers everything from grocery shopping to air travel to sports and everything in between. It is very well-written and an extremely helpful resource for parents of food-allergic children.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: We can do this! Review: This is a helpful book! It was comforting to both my husband and me as we talked about certain chapters to know we are not alone dealing with this. We'd say, "See, we're not the only ones", or "Oh, we hadn't even thought about that yet". It is a very informative and practical resource and we've referenced it more than once to deal with new situations- so plan to keep it on a handy bookshelf! This book helps put things into perspective and helps us focus on the positive things we can do to manage food allergies.
