Rating: Summary: I found this book useful as an expectant and new Mom Review: Being pregnant at the time this book was published, it was very useful. I found this book a great guide to actions I could use daily. The book also gave me confirmation for many things I had already "gotten away with" while being pregnant. Humerous and Helpful. I highly recommend for every expecting Mother!

Rating: Summary: Interesting information inside Review: I liked this book, although it didn't delve as deeply into these issues as I had hoped. It was still a good read, with interesting info and lots of great advice for expectant moms and those women who are hoping to become pregnant soon. I love Mrs. Spencer's personable, easy-to-read writing style!
Rating: Summary: Thorough, Thoughtful, and Wise Review: This book is really great. I'd never seen anything like it before. It's the perfect gift for baby showers. It just has so much really kind and thoughtful advice for any woman who's pregnant...and her mom...and her mother-in-law...and her husband, just everyone!
Rating: Summary: Fun reading any mom-to-be would eat up! Review: This book lives up to its title and covers a lot of topics not usually discussed like birth traditions and people who make weird comments to you and telling your boss you're pregnant. I liked the stuff about baby showers too.
Rating: Summary: not what i expected Review: This book was not helpful. I was expecting insightful information, and was disappointed. I would not recommend this book for a first time mother.
Rating: Summary: A Pregnancy Book Like No Other! Review: Why does the world need yet another pregnancy book? Because no guide exists that's like this one. Here you'll find answers to the nagging questions that we ask our friends and moms, rather than our doctors: What's the best way to tell my boss I'm expecting? How many middle names can we pick? Who can properly host a shower? How do I handle people who want to reach out and pat my belly? How do I plan a naming ceremony? What's a grandmother's shower? What if my water breaks in public? Is it cool to e-mail my birth announcements? And just how late can I safely be with all those thank you notes? This book is based on my personal and professional experience--as a mother of four, the author of the book Parenting Guide to Pregnancy and Childbirth, the former editor-in-chief of magazines for expectant and new parents, and the author of dozens of magazine articles as a contributing editor to Parenting, Baby Talk, and Woman's Day. I thought I'd seen the subject of having a baby covered from every angle. Yet most pregnancy guides skip these topics; most etiquette manuals cover only baby showers and name-giving. No single book seriously or thoroughly addresses where these two worlds overlap. That's why I wrote Everything ELSE You Need to Know When You're Expecting. What's more, I was pregnant with my fourth child while I wrote it--that's why (I hope) it's chock-full of the very issues that expectant parents mull over themselves. I've also interviewed scores of experts (including the best experts of all--real parents in the trenches). Think of it as an idea book--not a rule book. If you're a dad, a grandparent-to-be, or even the sister, best friend, or colleague of a pregnant woman, this book is for you, too. Special sections address your concerns, from showers and gifts to how to show support. It's the pregnancy guide for expectant parents AND the people who love them. (Makes a good shower gift, too!) Throughout, I've tried to make this information not just useful, but fun-- and isn't that what having a baby is all about?
