Summary: I wish I had never followed her advice.
Review: I adopted a daugher in 1972. Before I did, I read this book. Louise Raymond suggested that you begin right away telling the child she is adopted. Start by playing a game asking, "Are you my adopted daughter?" I did this when she was in the crib. My daughter at 14, used this against me saying every day I reminded her she was adopted. She told DCFS and they put her in foster care. I am glad it is no longer in print.
