Summary: This book is ABUSIVE and ANTI-CHRISTIAN!
Review: Someone gave me this book and I did a search so I could sell it on amazon.com. However, once I read a few of the chapters, I am so appalled that I refuse to sell it, lest I have on my conscience the abuse that could result in some well-intentioned parents using the principles in this book. Some examples (from the book): 'Never give a kid a second chance.' and 'The greatest act of love is to never do anything for your child that he can do himself.' No kidding! And they are not just titles, but the author actually promotes these twisted ideas! So, let's get this straight: the author is saying that it is loving to do kind things for, say, your wife, but never do anything like pour a glass of milk for your child if s/he is capable of doing it him/herself. Now I ask: how is this going to teach 'Christian' values of love and kindness? Children learn from what they observe us doing! The best way to raise children is by giving them good examples! I threw this book in the trash, rather than be responsible for anyone else reading it.
