Rating: Summary: The best place to start so far! Review: I love this book! Ever feel like your Elderly loved one sits in a chair all day with no direction and no hope? As a long distance caregiver for my Mom, I often felt that way. I miss our little trips to the country together and the time we just spent sitting on the front porch talking and watching the birds. This book gave me focus again that life does not have to become dull and useless and hopeless because physical and mental frailties limit once easy activities. Even long distance, this book gave me things to do that have made a big difference in both our lives. One example: after some research and recommendations, I found a beautician over the telephone who specialized in Elder Hair! A once fairly easy task of making an appointment had become too complicated, so she just didn't do it. Now my Mom has a regular reason to get up and out of the house. She calls me after her appointments sounding happy and awake. I'm convinced that staying active and feeling useful can sometimes be the best medicine! I recommend this book!
