Review: As a parent of 2 boys aged 2 and 4 I found this book to be particularly helpful because of the specific examples. Others may list theories but the examples are what I needed. For example, setting clear expectations. For my toddlers it was often hard for them to decide what they wanted to do, eventually my patience ran out. Ms. Fite explains how to stop playing those games. I found that in a short period of time, it worked. The rules for the home were helpful to me, too. It is nice to have a home where children only eat in the kitchen thanks to the advice in the book. In fact, when they go to stores and see tiled floors they ask if it is the kitchen and can they eat there. The benefit to me is a living room without spills or drips on the carpet or furniture. The chapter on Levels of Offense helped me to differentiate between serious offenses and the ones that are not so serious but can still ruin your day. By differentiating I can better dole out discipline, setting expectations for future behavior. Anyone would enjoy reading this, even if you are childless but have nieces and nephews visiting. It is an easy read with practical steps anyone can employ.
