Rating: Summary: Back in the day Review: AMBIENT ECHOES is a culmination of Cleo C. Coney's life, told in a candid and sometimes sportive manner. Coney reminisces about those days when a hot spanking followed a disobedient act, when run-ins with the law meant your parents, and when there were no threats of a 911 call for being disciplined. He now laughs about the 'butt' whippings and other punishment he and his three siblings endured during the good-ole days when whippings were common practice. This sharing through prose and poetry gives just a glimpse of the character molding method they went through while growing up. Coney gives thanks and much respect to those two individuals that loved them enough to arrest them from entering a life that befell many of their peers. He finally understands that the chastising were their parent's way of preparing them for life, by making them understand that every action has a consequence or more specifically, every negative action brings a negative consequence. AMBIENT ECHOES is saturated with words of wisdom from yesteryear. Two of the entries, Penny Garden and The Good Ole' Days will invoke fond memories and awaken the child in you.
