Rating: Summary: Great start for new parents Review: As a grandfather to be, this book really caught my attention. After browsing through it, and then reading some of the chapters, I immediately bought books for my wife and I and my expectant daughter (an OB-GYN). My daughter then bought and sent copies to all her expectant friends and now recommends this book to her newly pregnant patients! Dr. Altman is insightful, sensitive, and covers every topic in a caring, easy to understand, and informative manner. A MUST!!!
Rating: Summary: recommended by a pediatrician Review: I recommend this book to all my patients...very easy to read and at times, quite funny...Most parents really appreciate the index at the back with different disease signs and symptoms and what to do with them...I like the relaxed, non-alarmist attitude with which Dr. Altman approaches child rearing...A must for all first-time parents...
Rating: Summary: A New Expert in Town Review: Move over Dr. Spock!!! There is a new expert in town--Dr. Stuart Altman has written a most useful, informative and insightful book for your baby's first year. As a mother of three daughters and now a grandmother, I only wish I had this easy to read book of medical knowledge and advice many years ago. I know you will love it and will recommend it to all your friends.
Rating: Summary: Grandma Ruth Says Review: My first grandchild is on the way. I needed this book as a refresher course. It's wise and witty, a hands on resource for new (and slightly older) parents.
Rating: Summary: Thank God For The Kidfixer Baby Book! Review: My wife and I are expecting our 1st child in February, and this book has really eased our worries about our new baby. As new parents, we knew next to nothing about baby-care before we read this book. Now, I feel like we can handle anything our new baby throws (or vomits) our way. The Kidfixer Baby Book was so easy to read, understand and digest because it was written in such a casual, conversational style. My wife and I especially apreciated the sections in the book that dispell the common myths and misconceptions of child care (no more "fever phobia"). Thanks, Dr. Altman, for easing our bundle of nerves over our new bundle of joy.

Rating: Summary: A must-read from a fellow physician Review: Since I am a mom-to-be, and due in November, I have over the course of 7 months purchased almost every baby book written. The Kidfixer Baby Book has been my absolute favorite! This book is a resource that every mom should not be without. It is an easy-read, filled with practical information that many of the other "baby books" are missing. As a physician and as a mom-to-be, I learned a lot of new information that I know will be indispensable in the upcoming years.
Rating: Summary: stop complaining, learn the how to's of raising your infant Review: This book is amazing. It covers everything you need to know about the first year of your infant's life. It covers every medical and physical situation you might encounter and also has chapters on multiple births, working parents, single parents, divorce, separation and guy parenting. It is extremely informative and easy to understand. It has an at-your-fingertip guide on common illnesses, when to call the doctor and what do in an emergency. It is a must have for all parents and grandparents.
Rating: Summary: Wonderful Review: This book is great for parents who are not only first timers but those who are also professionals. It's easy to follow, has great tips, and myths that we are told by generations of mothers and fathers. I highly recommend this book to be on every parents shelf.
