Rating: Summary: A Page Turner Review: "Inside of Me" is a must read for young women. Once I started reading it, I had a hard time putting it down. It is easy to read, honest and meaningful. Shellie Warren reveals her personal experiences in a way that leaves the reader feeling that she is talking directly to them. You feel her pain and it makes you take a look at your life and what you can do to make it better. If you are questioning whether to purchase this book, don't hesitate. This is a purchase you will never regret.
Rating: Summary: ...Redemption Song... Review: "Inside of Me" is a powerful and moving journey into some of Shellie Warren's most personal experiences. One of the things that makes the book so moving is how open and honest she is in sharing the details of her life...her story is uncut and at times painfully raw. I appreciate the way she is able to peel back the layers of each of her experiences to clearly illustrate the consequences of introducing sex into a relationship, as well as the role that family history and self esteem play in dating. The book is definately a must read for young men and women to help prevent them from making some of the same mistakes as the author. "Inside of Me," is also a powerful tool for people of all ages who may currently find themselves in the confusing and painful cycle of "sexual misuse." Although written from an unapologetically Christian perspective, I think people of all faiths can grow and be transformed through reading this book. Shellie Warren offers up her story as a song of redemption, showing the power of the Creator's unconditional love...and in turn her words empower the reader to take a better, wiser path.
Rating: Summary: Save Yourself; Save Your Soul! Review: Have you ever read a review and saw such fabulous comments about the book that made you wonder, "should I buy this? I wonder is the book really all of that or are these friends and family members of the author?" Maybe you just have a few bucks to "treat yourself" and you are torn between that juicy novel your girlfriend told you about that's filled with so much sex, bling and sizzle that it will keep you up well past bed time. WELL... Inside of Me is a treat, it's a treasure and it's a page turner. It's the type of "treating yourself" you cannot afford to pass on. I can tell you how great it is; how much it will inspire you, change your life, uplift your spirit, and also encourage you to value your soul, your body, your mind and your spirit more than a sexual encounter, and more than bling. But after you buy the book, you'll read it and discover just how awesome it is and you'll want to tell everyone the truth, too..just like me. Reviewed by M. Lorraine (...)
Rating: Summary: Everyone should have a copy Review: I am a senior citizen(female) and I just finished reading"Inside of me". I think that everyone should read this book this young lady has done a spectacular job in writing this book. I wish that particularly young women could read this and be wise enough to take heed and they will avoid some of the hurt and pain that Shellie went through. This should also be a wakeup call for parents to listen to their children and to put them first especially during their formative years.
Thank you sweet Shellie for allowing God to use you to help heal others and yourself.
Rating: Summary: Intriguing, Captivating, Excellent!!! Review: I began reading this book, and could not put it down!! Well-written and thought-provoking, Shellie's work encourages self-examination into one's own lifestyle and alignment with what God wants for us.
Rating: Summary: Inside of Me Review: It isn't often that you read a memoir in which the author throws everything on the table in an attempt to use their mistakes as stepping-stones for someone else; so that they won't make the same mistakes in their lives. Shellie R. Warren does just that in her recently released title INSIDE OF ME: Lessons of Lust, Love, and Redemption. It is a remarkable story of her younger days and how she was able to turn her life around and focus on knowing that intimate relationships are a gift to be cherished and not just shared with anyone.
Through her experiences of being involved with men intimately, seeking "love" and the approval of men, women everywhere can see the flaws in the logic as well as the deprivation to one's mind, body, and soul. She boldly shares her story in a way that not only touches you, but grips you into the depths of the pain she endured. She shares not only the reasons not to have sex until marriage, but also the issues and problems resulting from some intimate relationships.
It is through this book that young women can learn to fully appreciate their virginity and older women in the dark can step into the light, heal themselves, and move away from the hurt of the past. It is also a book to be shared with young boys and men as well because they too can benefit from Warren's insight, her faith, and her conviction. The body is a vessel and should be treated as such.

Rating: Summary: Saving grace for some. Healing for others. Ya gotta read it! Review: Reading Shellie Warren's Inside of Me brings to mind Makes Me Wanna Holler by Nathan McCall and The Coldest Winter Ever by Sister Souljah. After reading these books, I told anyone who crossed my path that they are a `must-read' for teenagers and adults.
Inside of Me not only gives you a real and, often time, raw look into `sexual misue', sexual addiction, and the detriments of childhood sexual abuse, it gives you a realistic look at the heart and spirit of a broken young girl. Shellie weaves us through a story of failed relationships, multiple abortions, low self esteem, self pity, and self loathing.
Knowing in her heart that something just wasn't right from a very young age, Shellie proceeded on a path to seek and experience unconditional love. Many girls and women have set their sights on a similar journey only to realize, many years later, that the journey should have taken them inside to the true source of unconditional love.
What is truly wild about reading Shellie's story is that you judge, criticize, and nearly dispise her weakness. But, then you put the book down and recall your own tumultuous teenage years, which probably have led to some turbulent adult years. Then, you realize that Shellie's story could be your own. Just thinking about the mistakes you have no nerve to admit can make you break out into cold sweat.
Shellie is not different. Her story is prevalent among many including the young men who delve into the world of "sexual misuse." What has to be done is what Shellie so bravely did. She set the table, served up a platter of no nonsense discourse, and poured out her heart. What's between these pages took courage to write. It's now our turn to open the book and unveil what is happening in order to heal. Reveal it. Talk about it. And, change it.
I gave the book as a gift to my friend's teenage daughter. Everywhere she went, she took Inside of Me. The book is that compelling! This book can help parents open the door to have the conversation they should have with their children. When Inside of Me reaches the masses, it will have the same impact as the movie Thirteen.
Inside of Me is an easy, quick read. I finished it in just a few hours. From page one, you feel as though you're sitting on a sofa and talking to a friend. A tear roles down your friend's cheek and you ask, `what's wrong.' The story she tells is Inside of Me. You take the journey with her. You hold her hand. And, afterwards, you praise dance together because the journey - if you want to call it that - is over and the lessons are clear. Healing has begun and a new life is born.
Thanks, Shellie.
Rating: Summary: Excellent read for women and men alike Review: Shellie R. Warren has taken a bold and daring step towards healing from sexual abuse and misuse by uncovering her past and sharing the lessons that she has learned in this book. Written in a witty conversational tone, Inside of Me takes the reader deep into the mentality and circumstances surrounding the author and the choices that she made throughout her early life. I recommend this book to both men and women who are truly interested in doing the work to heal from sexual misuse. Shellie R. Warren has displayed not only the type of style and finesse that mark the great writers of our age, but also the courage and strength of character that mark the great women of our age.
Rating: Summary: A Must Read for All Young Women Review: Shellie R. Warren shines a light on a dark subject that most people refuse discuss or acknowledge -- the darkness and consequences of sexual misuse. Using examples from her turbulent twenties, Warren not only expels the skeletons from her closet, she offers hope to those whose lives mirror her own. She offers up her own mistakes so that maybe, some young woman will read her wisdom and not follow in her footsteps.
