Rating: Summary: Great book for physicians, nurse practitioners, and nurses Review: This is a workbook that helps the medical professional to learn the basics of the child sexual abuse evaluation. Unlike other books, this one is not a didactic reference but offers a stepwise system of learning. Each section builds on the previous section, with the first addressing the protocol, the second dealing with taking a history from the abused child and the third providing an approach to the examination and interpretation of physical findings. The program includes a videotape which helps to demonstrate findings and interpretations. The final section discusses legal issues. All discussions are case based and each section is preceded by specific learner objectives. This program is perfect as a pre-requisite for child abuse fellowships, residency programs, private practitioners and those who are interested in improving their skills in child sexual abuse medical evaluations.
