Summary: Healing From Childhood Abuse
Review: Healing From Childhood Abuse is a "must read" for anyone struggling to survive the devastating effects and the life-long consequences of childhood abuse. This book should be "required" reading for the friends and loved ones standing alongside a "survivor," attempting to understand, to have compassion, and give loving support. The constant struggle that the author faces shows that the greatest challenge for a survivor of childhood abuse is to make it through just one more day free from negative emotions, from pain and fear, and from the hate and rage that could strangle and destroy their personal lives if allowed to flourish. You may find yourself in tears at the intensity of Julie's poetic journey "back-to-life." For myself, Julie's struggle also brought out anger-a righteous anger at those who are capable of hurting dear innocent children; which to me is an ultimate epitome of evil in our society. You will feel a sense of compassion and respect for this author, who miraculously found a way out of the mire in which she was unwilling enmeshed, by searching and reaching deep down inside to find that she held an awesome power with which to manifest the negative within into a wonderful life-changing positive-to finally realize that she is "not alone." Healing From Childhood Abuse shows that the search for truth along with a solid foundation of faith will ultimately bring one on the road to healing. The public needs to be educated to how devastating the trauma of childhood abuse is and the long-range behavioral and emotional effects it has on a child's life-Julie Martin's book will both educate and bring hope to the hurting!
