Rating: Summary: Babies Bring Light to a day full of Darkness.... Review: Faces of Hope Babies Born on 9/11 is a wonderful book that brings light to our world when many stood in darkness after the terrorists attacks almost two years ago. It was written by Christine Piersa Naman to be a message of hope to a world that was forever changed that day. Other books have been written about the tragedy, the stories of those who lost loved ones, how we could have avoided the tragedy, etc...I think Christine was trying to share some of the goodness left in our world with those who felt and are still feeling such sadness and loss. She mentions in her book, "With new life, there is always hope." I think Faces of Hope provides a smile, a ray of sunshine, when many are still hurting and need it most. "A baby is God's opinion that the world should go on." -Carl Sandburg another quote from the book says it perfectly. Americans are going on, moving forward but we will never forget the courage and bravery of those who lost lives that day. This book was to all of those people, their families and anyone needing to believe in a little goodness again! Christine Naman was able to put in words what so many of us were thinking and feeling on 9/11/2001 "What kind of world did we bring our babies into?" Her book doesn't have the answers just a little hope in the faces of 50 babies shown on the pages (50 babies out of 8,000 plus born on 9/11). The babies born that day can never replace those who lost lives; bring new hope...definitely!.. I highly recommend this book!
Rating: Summary: Warm and touching ---- Review: Following 9/11 we all need to be reminded of the joy that there is in the world and this book did it for me. FACES OF HOPE gave all of us hope along with a willingness to go on despite the darkness. I have met the author and to know her is to love her. She is the most beautiful writer and her words are so warm and touching. We are lucky to have such wonderful people speak out for all of us during such difficult times. Thank you Mrs. Naman for giving of yourself at such a trying time. All those who have read your book were happier people. You have made a real difference in this world.
Rating: Summary: Teaching lessons Review: For a day that is remembered for its horror, chaos, and fear, it is a delight to see the day honored for its "hope". These beautiful children represent the special deliveries of that day. As a teacher, I spend time discussing the impact of September 11th with my students, and I use a lot of literature written about that day. No book gets the reaction of my teenage students as does this book. Not only are the children innocent and full of hope, this book proves an important lesson to my students: Out of evil, good triumphs. This book is a very important part of my teacher library and it will continue to sit on my shelf as a reminder of the positive impact of that day.
Rating: Summary: Simply Trash Review: I looked it over and was disgusted. This is a shameful attempt to make money on the tragedy. I cannot see anything of value in it. Remembering back on that day, I was four blocks away, and looking at this thoughless and poorly executed book - I simply cannot make a connection. Why anyone would buy it is beyond me. I guess a negative star is not possible; too bad.Jarrad
Rating: Summary: Warm and touching ---- Review: I'll start this off by saying that I am a highly biased reviewer, my son is one of the children featured in Christine's book. So I have a fairly rare perspective not only on the book, but on the conflicting feelings of being the parent of a 9-11-01 baby. Christine has captured it perfectly, The joy, the sorrow and the hope. For all of us, September 11, 2001 was a horror. Many of us knew someone who was murdered on that day. I knew a young woman whose short life ended that morning when terrorists crashed her plane into Tower 2 of the World Trade Centers. So I know the sorrow and rage of that day personally. But those of us who saw new life enter the world that day also know joy and hope as God, yet again, demonstrated His perfect love for us. Is the book sentimental? Yes it is, but frankly, the world could use some unabashed sentimentality to replace the jaded cynicism that masquerades as intellectualism today. Sentiment is your heart's way of telling you what is REALLY important. Faces of Hope is about Renewal. Renewal of life, renewal of hope, renewal of faith and love. I would recommend it to anyone, and especially to those still fighting to come to terms with the events of 9/11. My son is the Massachusetts baby, Duncan, and I am proud to contribute his smiling face to this book.

Rating: Summary: Will put a smile on your face...... Review: This is a book that has to put a smile on your face. These babies are not only adorable, but they are so innocent. I give Mrs. Naman alot of credit for successfully putting this book together. It was thoughtful of her to reach out to other mothers delivering a baby on such a bittersweet day. With new life, there is always hope. God bless the USA

I would recommend to anyone needing something joyful to think about on each anniversary of the horrible events of September 11, 2001,it will bring a smile to your face.
