Summary: My Turn: Caring for Aging Parents & Other Elderly Loved Ones
Review: This is the most complete, user friendly book addressing the issues involved in caring for an ill or aging loved one that I have ever read. Dr. Haymon addresses these issues from her own personal experiences and by the end of the book I felt as though I had just spent a much needed visit with a friend who had gone through the things I have also dealt with. I felt comforted, reassured, and in some cases forewarned. The conversation format of the book lends to the feeling that one is actually having a conversation with Dr. Haymon. The Medical Advance Directives are priceless! Dr. Haymon does a wonderful job of giving the pros and cons of certain medical procedures and further explains steps necessary to ensure a person's last wishes are honored. I have the book and complete audio set and listening to Dr. Haymon's voice is like visiting with a friend who truly "understands." I highly recommend MY TURN as an excellent resource which includes hundreds of organizations which provide help for the elderly and their caregivers.
