Review: I'm not generally fond of history books but this book's title piqued my curiosity. I read the book and enjoyed it a great deal. The author has included countless excerpts from newspapers of the time, as well as records from the Irish National Archives that had been thought lost to a fire in 1922. Conley presents the source material, with minimal personal interjections--but provides helpful background info.
