Rating: Summary: a must read for people of any color Review: by no means are Dr. Johnson's ideas new but they are very good and written out in good detail. This is a very good book to read not only to mend but to learn something more about oneself.

Rating: Summary: Excellent book, not just for African Americans, but all race Review: Dr. Johnsons book Brothers of the Mend is an excellent book for understanding and healing anger, but not just for African Americans, for anyone who needs to find the solution to their problem rather than being the problem. It is very true that it does not matter how much eduction a black man has, where he went to college, or how much fame and fortune he has attained, he can expect to suffer some injustices in his life based entirely on the color of his skin. This situation, regardless of how it manifests, cannot help but cause him to be angry. For many different reasons. The good part about reading the book is that in it you find strategies for stopping the anger before it starts or before it gets the best of you. Brothers on the Mend is excellent, it gives you step by step simple techniques to stop anger before it takes control. By reading this book I have learned some quick methods to defuse anger, one in particular I've grown to love is taking a time out, this especially works for my children. As a child growing up in a single parent household with a mother working several jobs to make ends meet, patience was not one of her agenda. The meditation and relaxation techniques are particularly useful in relieving tension after a long day of working with hyper active children. Brothers on the Mend, made me take time out to re-evaluate myself and look my past experiences from a different stand point. To sum it up. I loved the book and I truely enjoyed reading it. I give it 5 stars and a plus.
Rating: Summary: Very solution focused Review: I was very impressed with this book. I wished someone had written something of this nature ten years earlier. It should be used a very helpful instruction guide.
