Rating: Summary: well researched and well written Review: I thoroughly enjoyed Dr. Atkins' description of the individuals and the family groups which she so carefully researched. This book is an interesting mixture of social history and social science, especially psychology. I only wish my history professors had presented the stories of the past as well as Dr. Atkins has in this book -- she changes the way I look at the field of history. Her writing is engaging, her description and interpretation thought provoking. I highly recommend this as an individual "must read" or a college history class "must read."
