Rating: Summary: Look Elsewhere Review: A quick read and waste of time. Information contained in the book generally available to anyone in al public forums.
Rating: Summary: Take a pass on this book. Review: Alzheimers Disease, fighting for finacial survival did not live up to my expectations. The Author clearly has "issues himself" and the biggest one is thinking we need his advice. The title is very misleading. There are many caring books on Alzheimers that include a short chaptor telling all we need to know about nursing homes etc. and protecting your money. There are no magic bullets contained in this book as the title implies and I would return it if I could.

Rating: Summary: With this book my money, can stay my money & pass it on Review: I am approx 64 years young. At this stage of life one gets concerned about what is next, what could happen, How to protect what "we" have built.... etc. This easy to read book has shown me in layperson's terms that I can protect my families money from a prolonged nursing home stay. This book has also shown me it is NOT too late to plan even if a family member is ALREADY in a nursing home. This book weeds thru all of the confusion and myths surrounding this over-whelming hard to talk about topic. After reading this book it is crystal clear as to why Beasley has been appointed Chair of the American Bar Association's Elder Law Committee. Wake up America buy it give it away as gifts.....Take these tools utilize them, you will be glad you did!!!
Rating: Summary: Looking for a great TOPIC to discuss then read it Review: I have an elderly father-n-law afflicted with Alzheimer's Disease. The strain for caring for him and dealing with all the governmental RED tape concerning helthcare reimbusements. I was astonished when I realized nursing home care for my father-n-law would NOT be covered by Medicare. This book; "Fighting For Financial Survival" was invaluable to me in that it leveled the playing field between the government and my family. Nursing Home planning, both how to choose one and protect your Assets from one, is too much for the average person such as myself. This book helped make complicated legal things seems simple. Rest assure you will know how to protect your assets when you are finished reading this book.

Rating: Summary: I cannot recommend this book. Review: I obtained this book expecting some real help to understand the financial implications of Alzheimer's Disease. Instead what I got was a simple recitation of what any Senior Citizen already knows that applies to all elderly people. Mainly, get rid of your assets before entering a nursing home. The "legal advice" in this book is of the most simplistic nature. I feel misled and out another $25.00 I can't afford. AARP sends out free pamphlets with better advice.
Rating: Summary: Looking for a great TOPIC to discuss then read it Review: I was interested in learning a "little" about asset protection had been hearing soooooo much talk amongst my peers on the tennis courts, about a friend who basically lost everything to a nursing home because he was not properly protected. So dedcided to do a search , somewhat skeptical wondering if I could digest such information. I read the editorial review and saw that this book had been written for someone like me that needed simple, language. I found the language to be as easy as pie, and well the examples were an absolute delight. Not only did I learn it but I can convey it too, & That says it all. A Great Write Good For you too!
Rating: Summary: I feel like a heavy weight was "literally lifted" Review: If you have a love one about to, or may someday need to,go into a nursing home, and do NOT have a clue on what to do with there money, but have a hunch that giving it all away is not the only way. Then this book will show you in step by step form on what to do, what not to do, and how to do it. I was able to walk away from this book with "real" knowledge. This book replaced fear with ease and avoidance with attempt! It Should be a mainstay on everyone's bookshelf.
Rating: Summary: Book is worthless Review: The book isn't about Alzheimers at all. It's simply a rehash of publicly available info on transferring your assets before someone enters a nursing home.
