Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: humorous and thoughtful Review: Sat down and read this book in one weekend. Intended to just start and read a chapter or two, but got caught up in the real-life people and situations. Easy to read. Great characters too...we all know a "Hannah" (the grandmother)! Life has its frustrations, but this book teaches you not to give up or loose hope...its all in "how" you deal with it. Chin-up and a positive attitude gets you through. This book is a quick pick-me-up with lots of lessons in life. Looking forward to a sequel!

Rating: ![3 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-3-0.gif) Summary: An effective blend of tragedy and humor. Review: This is a well written story of the roller coaster ride of a couple who must face the fact of infertility. At times sad, at times humorous, the author quite adroitly captures the flavor and tone of stressful in-laws, infidelity, and an unsatisfying career. The descriptions are detailed, but not overly burdensome. This is as easy, interesting read, chronicling the chapter in the life of a woman who just can't seem to get it together. Readily identifiable, the story pulls you along with ease. Recommended.

Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Caring Characters Review: To be honest, I didn't really think I would identify much with My Little One's main character, Emma Bronfman. She's a Jewish Californian with infertility problems and a husband she doesn't quite trust; I'm an Alabama Baptist with three kids and an overly devoted husband. But since I love Nancy Rechtman's columns, I wanted to read her novel, and I'm sure glad I did. By the end of chapter one, I felt as if Emma and I were best friends. I held my breath along with her each time she waited to see if she was pregnant and cried with her when she wasn't. I agonized with her over her job woes and her father's impending marriage, laughed with her at her grandmother's cranky remarks and the fun she had with her best friend and sister-in-law. I raged with her at her mother-in-law's insensitive button-pushing, and was seduced with her by her sexy, good-looking husband. As Emma searched her soul and tried to find answers to her life's questions, her musings rang so true that I found myself nodding in agreement as I read, and when she longed to be able to talk to her mother about everything, I missed my own mama and mourned right along with Emma. When I finished My Little One, I was truly sorry to have to say goodbye to my new Jewish friend in California, but I knew she would be all right because she was loved by so many people, including me.

Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Infertility not a joking matter made funny... Review: With pleasure I write a review for "My Little One" by Nancy Rechtman. Rechtman has penned an outstanding novel tackling a not so funny topic (infertility) making it understandable and even humorous. As a woman who went through years of infertility concerns I applaude this author for writing about this devastating condition woman can suffer with. The thing needed during this depressing time in life is humor and "My Little One" is absolutely hysterical throughout and yet, poignant and heart wrenching, too. A true talent can professionally and effectively blend humor and tragedy and this author definitely can, and does it well. Two thumbs up!
