Summary: from the Kansas City Starmagazine:
Review: "...On the Safe Side is a very good guide to childproofing an infant's or toddler's environment. Wolf, a mother of three young children, has compiled safety tips from many sources into this one well-organized, easy-to-use reference book. Each chapter addresses one area of your home or life ("kitchen," for instance, or "away from home"). Each right-hand page includes, in the margin, a list of the topics covered on those two pages, so you can thumb through quickly and find things. The book also includes a list of catalogs selling safety products, resources for information and a bibliography."

Summary: From the Foreword by Dr. Robert W. Steele, MD, FAAP
Review: "...The parent's role is part health care provider, police officer, social worker, teacher, and hero. With all these responsiblities, it is difficult to find time to gather all the available information about accident prevention let alone be completely pro-active in implementing the recommendations. A one-stop resource for facts and advice on injury prevention is essential if one is to be serious about not being a part of these statistics. On the Safe Side supplies this information accurately and realistically. Cindy Wolf's hard work and research will allow parents to expand the role of Hero at the expense of Health Care Provider. The pain prevented will not only be the child's but the caregiver's heartache as well."

Summary: A Childproofing Bible
Review: I was impressed and amazed at how thorough and comprehensive this book was. It is wonderful to have a reference that is all consuming. The information that Mrs. Wolf gives, along with the how to's is very valuabe. I was also thankful that she had given a list of resources of catalogs, important phone numbers, and poison control numbers in all states. Because of reading and implementing the things in Mrs.Wolf's book, I know I have made my home a safe place for my children to live and play.

Summary: Stating only the obvious
Review: We were hoping for a book that gave instructions on how to babyproof our home. Instead, the book only gives general statements about safety, with virtually no actualy directions or instructions. Even the general tips were so obvious that we had no choice but to return the book with complete dissatisfaction.
