Summary: Hit of the Party!
Review: I was having a Birthday get-together for my husband with some of our closest coupled friends and family and showed the book to one girlfriend. Not only did she like it and request it, everyone else did also... ( I mean EVERYONE, men and women). So now I am about to buy like 5 or 6 copies for the other couples and am planning a book party to take the test as couples and discuss. I shows many different positions only as entertainment, not as instruction. It gives good advice that a lot of couples would find easier to share with each other this way (book discussion). The pictures only give book some spice! Great Book! A must have for every couple...even just for fun!

Summary: Profile your sexual personality and kick-start your sex life
Review: My immediate reaction to a book entitled "Can You Pass the Sex Test?" is to respond, "No," and then go ahead and see how badly I fail. Anne Hooper asks 150 questions designed to pinpoint your sexual strengths and weaknesses. After measuring your motivation, sensuality, and the all-important goal of satisfaction, Hooper provides advice on how to brush up your knowledge and technique along with tips on relaxation and role playing.

At the very least the categories of the questions open you up to the idea that there are different facets of your sexuality to think about. The ten categories ask are you a confident lover, intimate lover, erotic lover, skillful lover, learned lover, thoughtful lover, powerful lover, potent lover, teasing lover or sensual lover? Basically each section asks ten questions, with each having a/b/c responses. Early on it will become clear that each letter represents a certain level. For example, in terms of "How confident are you?" answering mostly as makes you supremely self-assured, mostly Bs indicates you are fairly self-assured, and mostly Cs a sign you are a little unsure. For each category Hooper then suggests sections from part two of the book, "Graduating with Distinction," that can be of help, or at least of interest, so it is not like getting the "right" score gets you out of homework in this class.

The goal here is to take the sex test and reveal your true sexual personality as a way of facing up to how good you really are in bed and then finding a way of doing better (apparently you can retake the test). It is not like you have to be all things and have a 4.0 average on this; the idea is that you get a sense of where you are and where you can be and then proceed. Using this is a party game might be good for a laugh, but that is certainly not what this volume is intended to be. There are also questions you can ask your partner about their sex history, as a way of contrasting the ways in which you are your partner learned about sex, as well as about romantic reminiscences that can rekindle the initial flame of romance (which would be a good thing).

Hooper is a practicing sex therapist and relationship counselor in both the U.S. and Britain, as well as a best-selling author. The founder of the Women's Sexuality Workshop and a former director of the Forum Clinic, her best selling titles published by DK include "Anne Hooper's Ultimate Sex Guide," "Great Sex Games," and the "Pocket Sex Guide." This particular volume came in a little boxed set labeled the Lover's Library with "Lovers' Weekend Guide" and "Great Sex Tips," with the former being the best of the set.

Summary: Titillation only - no real substance
Review: The pictures in the book have naked men and women in various sex poses - no genitalia are shown.
The book's only selling (if at all) proposition is the photos..you can ignore the text. The author gives advice that even a teenager knows in our country!
BTW, I picked it up at my local public library - jst before I picked it up, about three middle-school girls turned the pages over and replaced the book on the shelf looking intensely bored.
