Rating: Summary: Very helpful book. Review: This book is fantastic. My wife and I just had our first child and were incredibly fortunate to have Jerri Colonero as our birthing nurse. She was more than what we could have asked for during a very long and tough delivery. After the baby was born, we read the book and were amazed on how much she included on so many different topics. We wished we bought the book nine months ago. Now having experienced Jerri Colonero personally, it is no surprise that she is the expert on the subject.
Rating: Summary: The best book on the market Review: This book is fantastic. My wife and I just had our first child and were incredibly fortunate to have Jerri Colonero as our birthing nurse. Rating: Summary: Absolutely fantastic book! Spread the word Review: This is the best resource on pregnancy and post-partum that I have found. Completely accessible, easy to read, well organized, thorough and detailed... I can't give it enough praise. I was especially impressed (and thankful) for the detailed childbirth section, which provided a wealth of information that most books only touch on. This is my first baby, and I feel so much more prepared and in control (despite the all-day nausea!). Where other books prescribe unrealistic diets and regimented rules, Jerri Colonero presents sensible guidelines and helpful suggestions in a warm way: no scare tactics here! Further, the section on bringing baby home covers all sorts of material, from breastfeeding basics to bathing. This is just the resource I was looking for and I've already consulted in again and again. I plan to spread the word about this wonderful book.
Rating: Summary: Remarkable insights, advice and counsel Review: This remarkable book covers the entire spectrum of bringing a child into this world, from all stages of pregnancy through birth and infant care, with compassion and deep insights. Written in easy-to-understand language and amply illustrated, it not only answers all of your questions but does so in a comprehensive yet concise manner with great insight.
Rating: Summary: An Experienced Obstetrical Nurse With You All the Way Review: With the changes in today's health care delivery system, nurses no longer have the time they need to teach and prepare new parents adequately during their brief hospital stays. Expectant partners and parents must find sources outside of the hospital, and take on increased responsibility for getting the education they need. This book will go on a long way in providing that education, and will serve as a reference when new parents have questions. Overall, I believe my book will reduce anxiety and boost confidence, allowing readers to fully enjoy their birthing experiences. I felt that there was a need for a comprehensive, affordable guide written by an experienced obstetrical nurse, With You & Your Baby All the Way, under one cover, guides readers through pregnancy, childbirth, recovery of the mother after delivery, and baby care (including breastfeeding, bottle feeding, illness identification and safety issues). My distinct telephone symbol throughout is meant to help safeguard both parents and their babies by bringing to their attention important information that needs to be reported to their obstetrician, midwife or pediatrician. In addition, my book will help readers become more informed consumers and better advocates for their desired birthing experience. Dad, or partner, you are not forgotten! This book will help you understand how to be part of the process every step of the way. I wrote this book as if we were in the same room talking. I think you will find it easy to read and user-friendly. The short table of contents will guide you to a main topic, while the longer table lists every heading, many of which are the everyday questions asked of me in the past 22 years of hands-on experience. In addition, the index can be used as a symptom-reference to quickly understand the significance of a symptom (should you call your practitioner?) and what you can do to bring some relief. Experienced parents will find it quick and easy to find specific topics of interest or of concern to them. Eat well, get plenty of rest, and thank you for letting me share in your pregnancy, childbirth, recovery, and baby care!
