I think it put Dr. Spock to shame. I found this to be the most readable, practical, user friendly book of interactions between parents and children I ever read. I am a health care professional and had good access to self help literature. Dr. Ginott's books were the best. I think they could help a whole new generation of parents if reprinted. The best part of these books is they are funny and entertaining. They do not read like a text book and you are able to absorb the information painlessly. I had a wild ride raising a ADD child and this book saved my son, myself and my sanity. Please reprint this book for other mothers. Thanks

I took a child raising class when my children were little and this was the text. It gave me great parenting skills and made my life with my children fun. They were well behaved and a joy at home, church, shopping, vacations, etc. I give a great deal of credit to Dr. Ginott. What a shame I can't obtain a book for the parents of my grandchildren. I can only lone out my copy.

Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Practical, insisghtful, educated book on parent child relati Review: It is too bad that the book is out of print. as I look back this was one of the few useful resources on dealing with the often difficult time of raising children. Dr. Gannot uses examples from very real world situations between parent and child or teenager which one can apply to personal situations. They worked well for or family. I have suggested this book to friends only to find out it is out of print. Look for it in used book sources, worth the effort
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Why is this book out of print?? Review: It never ceases to amaze me when certain books go out of print. This is simply one of the most valuable books I have ever read. To echo the previous reviewers thoughts--it's not just essential for learning how to deal with children, but with everyone. My 2 year old daughter was a very difficult child--until Dr. Ginott said "labeling is disabling" and I stopped calling her difficult. And now she's not difficult--just wonderful. Get this book back in print.

If we value neatness our teenager will be sloppy, his room messy, his clothes repulsive, and his hair unkempt and long How do you make your years with your teenager not just tolerable, but enjoyable? What typical mistakes do parents make and what are the alternative civilized ways to raise your teenagers? Although dated, I owe much of my joyful years with my teenagers to Dr. Ginott's timeless advice. This book is a timeless gem on how to find solutions during your child's teenage years.

Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Between Parent and Child by Dr. Haim Ginott Review: This was the book I used when raising my children (35 and 33 now). It far surpasses anything I read before or since in helping parents understand how to succesfully communicate with their child. Dr. Ginott's sensible suggestions regarding everyday situations allowed our family to deal with such things as the "spilled milk", the misplaced anger, etc. in a constructive and satisfying manner. I would very much like to give a copy to my daughter and son who are raising my grandsons. Is there anything that can be done to convince the publishers to print this very wonderful book again?
