Summary: Just What I was Looking For!
Review: As a Christian Mom of two lovely daughters I have been looking for an appropriate source to use in discussing dating and sex. This book gave me great suggestions, analogies, and reasons for discussing these topics, and uses language they can relate to. The book speaks for high morals and strong values without being pretentious and "preachy". I think it is super, and would recommend it to anyone with teens just entering the dating scene.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A great book for modern times!
Review: I wasn't expecting this book to be as good as it was. In fact, I expected the usual focus on the physiology of sex, rather than the emotional repercussions of encouraging our teens to have sex before they are ready. This book was a surprise. The author speaks out of her own experience, which many of us who came of age in the 70's and 80's share. I especially appreciate the idea that even if your child has already gone farther than they would have wished to, they can stop and re-gain their standards, and can choose NOT to follow the crowd into sexual behavior. This is an abstinence-based outlook, so is probably not the right choice for parents who want their kids to live freely without sexual restrictions. It does mention prayer for overcoming sexual arousal, but is otherwise not Christian-based. Highly recommended!

Summary: Misleading information that can cause more damage than good.
Review: I would prefer a no star review. This is the first book I"ve picked up that warns of the "dangers of masturbation". So, I guess since she advises against sex before marriage also that one just needs to wear a chastity belt throughout his developing years, not watch tv, look at magazines, listen to music, look at others (one might become aroused and then what?). This book takes us back about a century.
