Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: As a father, I was encouraged not insulted!!! Review: Fathers don't let the title fool you. The book is not about bashing fathers but only illustrating the true responsiblity God has given us. Women are educated on the positive roles fathers are to play in the lives of daughters. For those of us who have daughters but do not have full custody it is more inperative that you read this book.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: A Good Approach Review: I have read this book and interviewed the author. I believe that this is a good book for Christians dealing with the emotional or physical absence of their father. Mrs. Griffin is offering a first-hand account of her own experience and sharing insight as to how other Christian women can deal with a difficult issue. I enjoyed the book.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: This is just so wonderful....lots of women can be encouraged Review: I read with great interest your book and shared it with other individuals. My father was home with our family, but there have been others that I have shared the story with and can relate personally to the issues raised in the book. We are all grateful for your work of love.
Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: Badly needed subject, bad approach Review: I was really happy to find a book that dealt with fatherless women, as I've had firsthand experience with an emotionally absent father. Unfortunately, this book's narrow minded approach and juvenile attempt to replace a father's love with God's love was a disappointment. I do believe in God, and consider myself a spiritual person. But in books which deal with a psychological loss, religion does not belong. If someone wants to turn to God OR whatever spiritual source is present in their lives, then that is a matter of personal choice. How emotional needs and religion get intertwined is beyond me. We cannot turn to God whenever we have problems. In very difficult times, we can ask for more strength and then WE act. We can rely on ourselves and find strength there. The author sounds like she is telling people to turn to God rather than turning to Daddy, and either way you're relinquishing your own strength and saying "I cannot make decisions. I am weak. I cannot think for myself. Someone else do it!" It is this lack of responsibility for one's actions that perpetuates a non-thinking, lazy, violence obsessed youth. The author might be wise to realize that while she is approaching a very important subject, her method is only going to reach a limited population due to its completely biased tone.
Rating: ![1 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-1-0.gif) Summary: Heavy on religion, extremely low on psychology Review: I was very excited to find a book on this subject. After reading the editorial review and the book description, I gathered that it would be a psychological. The father described sounded just like my father. Great! I was unpleasantly surprised to find this book taking a completely religious approach to the subject. Pretty much the only advice this book offered was "turn to God." The book goes onto suggest among other things, abstaining from TV as it is a "tool of Satan" and criticizes talk shows for offering a "secular" view of problems. If you want a religious view on this problem - or any other problem for that matter - then this is the book for you. If you're looking for a psychological study, look elsewhere. And if Amazon could update the book description to reflect the fact that this book is a religious book, I might be the last person to write a one star review of "Fatherless Women."
Rating: ![0 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-0-0.gif) Summary: Women may find joy in overcoming the deficit of no father. Review: Our society, for many reasons, is filled with woes, but one of the greatest sorrows is fatherless women. To not know who our father is, or what he stands for, leaves a void--a void that must be filled. Women soar much higher and more confidently when they know daddy is there and can break their fall. Steps to a new you with this 30 day plan to victory.
