Rating: Summary: Terrible Review: I thought this book a terrible and diluded book of circumstance and people that anger and disgust m
Rating: Summary: magical Review: This is an almost religous book. I rate it as one of the best books I have ever read. It contrasts with complicated "philosophical" books as one which uses simple words, is a parable that can be understood at different levels, and contains a few profound ideas - but more than anything else - will touch your heart.
If you wish to grow young again, read it and
his other "Wind, Sand and Stars"
Rating: Summary: a book for children and grown-ups Review: I read The Little Prince for the first time when I was ten years old. Now I am 28 and I have a collection of it in more than 20 languages. It talks about the desert, the stars, and men who don't have roots
Rating: Summary: It would change the way you love, think, and learn. Review: It is quite impossible to go back living the way you did after reading it. I have read it five times in my life. And each time I read it, it has a different meaning. It has taught me so much. A beautiful tale, to be always remembered. I will continue to read it again and again. And I'm sure everytime I read it, it will teach me something new. Something I didn't see in it before
Rating: Summary: Wisdom of the Ages Review: Tender, spirited, and written from the heart. Most adults seem to make the mistake of believing that growing up and growing old must by neccessity go hand in hand. It is all to easy to grow jaded and cynical in an age more interested in what you own, not who you've become. Growing up is fine- the acceptance of responsibility and the maturation of values attendant to that process. Growing _old_ is something I've fought all my life -- and it was gratifying to see a book that so beautifully crystallized everything I've believed about the truly important lessons from life
Rating: Summary: It will ignite a child's imagination, and stir your soul Review: This modern classic is more than just a children's story. Antoine-Saint Exupery weaves politics, philosphy, and maturity between the lines of an imagintive and moving tale of ego, want, and loss. Children will be enchanted by the classic 'once-upon-a-time' feel; and adults will be moved to tears by the adult lessons the Little Prince encounters. No bookshelf is complete without a copy of this timeless novel
Rating: Summary: Do you ache? Review: Do you ache? Do you search the streets below and the heavens above, wondering, hoping that somewhere out there there is someone who thinks of you often, and longs to be close to you? I used to. Then I met The Little Prince. He taught me more about the nature of truth and friendship than I could ever put into words. I understand now that love is more than the feeling of wanting to be near, and that the pain felt in a friend's absence enhances the joy felt in that friend's presence. Friends are rare and they are precious. But once you meet them, they stay with you forever.
Do you ache? Does loneliness make its home in the center of your chest? If it does, then let me help you. Let me introduce you to The Little Prince.
Rating: Summary: He appears out of nowhere; life will never again be the same Review: While St. Exupery's book The Little Prince may seem to be a children's book, adults can learn a great deal from it about
"matters of consequence" and the essential things in life... Through the voice of the narrator who is stranded in the Sahara with a damaged plane, St-Ex teaches us to look at the adult world through the eyes of a child. The little prince
gave the narrator the sound of laughter to accompany
the stars in the nighttime sky... he will be happy to share
his insights with you as well.
Rating: Summary: A lyrical bridge between the child and adult in each of us.. Review: An elegant short novel, filled with simple and timeless truths about our universe and its inhabitants. If you enjoy sharing stories, this one is a delight to read
aloud to audiences of all ages.
Rating: Summary: Reality behind fantasy. Review: In a world where children leap directly into adulthood and adults rarely look back to childhood, The Little Prince expands the perception of adults and children alike.
Reading The Little Prince vividly displays the drudgery of adults caught in adulthood, the fear and frustration of children who know nothing of the ways of adults (which I
believe is simply a metaphor for all things in life that have no easy answer), and the pleasure that can be gained in simply looking at life through innocent eyes.
The author's skill in creating imagery through the simple conversations of the child, while contrasting the adult's character with the blankness of the desert is the most superior mixing
of two opposing elements in any book I've read. The Little Prince is comfortable to read without taking your imagination or your analytical reasoning. I highly recommend this book.
