Summary: A MANY-LAYERED STORY FOR ALL! AMAZING!
Review: i read this amazing book for the first time when i was 8 or 9 years old, and liked its interesting and entertaining story. i read it again when i was about 12, and was struck by something deeper in it that i couldn't quite grasp. then, at 15, i reread it once more, and it took my breath away... i have made a point of reading this book every single year since then, because each time i read it, i find hundreds of new things, hundreds of deeper meanings, hundreds of insights into my own life. with each subsequent reading, this book only gets better. it is perfect and timeless in that anyone, whether 5 or 105 years old can find enjoyment and beauty in this book. for young readers, it is just a fun story with a sad ending. but the older and more mature the readers are, the more meaningful this story becomes. it is like an infinite number of layers that you can peel away with each reading, but there are always more remaining for the next time you read. if you are looking for something to spark your imagination, inspire your spirit, and open your eyes, PLEASE pick up this book! i especially love this edition, with its whimsical colorful hand-drawn pictures done by the author. i HIGHLY recommend that EVERYONE buys this book, it has become my absolute favorite!

Summary: Confusing but still OK
Review: The Little Prince was an interesting but confusing book. It is about a little man that owns his own planet. It is really an asteroid. He leaves it because he is bored there. He meets many different kinds of people. He meets a geographer, a drunk and, a concieted man. The geographer tells him to go to earth because it is so cool. So the little prince follows his instructions and goes there. After one year, he meets a man in the desert. They talk for a long time about every thing that the little prince has accomplished over the entire year. To find out what a miniature alien man can do on our planet, read the book.

Summary: The Little Prince
Review: This book is mainly about a little boy that meets so many different people. These people are all very unique and have different characteristics. To begin with, the little prince meets a pilot who is stranded in the middle of a desert with a broken airplane. The little prince begins to talk to the pilot and starts to talk about the different planets that he has already visited. The little prince feels that Earth is very wierd. The little prince sees things in a child's perspective, rather than an adult's perspective. This book allows us to see what we should really appreciate in life.

This book is written at a 10-12 year level. It's a great and enjoyable book. Once I started reading it, I just couldn't put it down! I definately recommend this book to children that love using their imagination!

Summary: Things of Consequence
Review: A pilot who finds himself stranded in a desert with a broken airplane meets an extraordinary little person. The Little Prince who is visiting Earth, just one planet in a long succession of planets already visited, tells the pilot of his journey.

Earth seems just as strange and alien as the other places he has visited. Places inhabited by archetypal manifestations of adulthood. The absurdities of which are crystal clear when seen through the eyes of a child.

The Little Prince's journey through the cosmos - brings us face to face with "things of consequence" - allowing us to see, maybe for the first time, what we really lose in growing old and rigid, instead of growing up.

This book is written at a 9-12 year level - but its depths speak to adults as well. A charming story in itself, can be read, and reread, its layers unfold, revealing deeper and deeper insight.

The artwork in the book is done by the author, too.

Summary: Incomparable Parable
Review: one of the top 10 or so books you must read in your lifetime. but don't expect to find a dry eye in the house when you're done. as sad as it is beautiful.

Summary: Amazing
Review: I truly believe that this book should be read everywhere. People today never listen to the more simple things in life, the things that make life worth smiling over. Why we chose to ignore true beauty like this keeps me amazed. We need to look beyond ourselves, for the book proves that we take ourselves too seriously.

Summary: A good reminder of what we should be
Review: At times, I forget who I am, why I am here, why I do what I do, and most of all, I lose sight of what's important. Reading this book remind me of all of the above. Without a doubt, it brings me back from a sense of loss by simply stating the few things that are, and should always be, most important to us.

Summary: Simply the best
Review: This is one of my childhood books and since reading it I can not remember any other more wackier, imaginative and yet appealingly reasonable book. Within in all the junk in this world today I find this single book honset and true and hreat breaking everytime I reread it.

There's nothing more to say really, just this, - This is a MUST read! ....please dont let yourself miss it!

Summary: INVISIBLE ESSENTIALS
Review: This slender charmer has long been a favorite--since I read it high school French class. The golden-haired boy--an interstellar traveler--touches a responsive chord in many hearts: the fox who wants to be tamed by him; the stranded pilot who sketches for him when he'd rather be repairing his plane; even the small snake who offers to speed his journey home. Adults and young readers alike will treasure this gentle tale.

Critics--those pompous and serious adults--debate St. Exupery's intention in this tiny masterpiece. Is it a fairy tale or an astral fable? Is it a vehicle to offer subtle criticism of Society's foibles, cleverly disguised as a children's story? Is the author trying to Entertain or to Instruct--or just gently offer us a nostalgia trip? Sometimes we jaded adults yearn for the simplicity and faith of childhood. Perhaps we need to see the world with our hearts, as the Essential is often invisible or blurred to our eyes. For when we can bring ourselves to sacrifice "matters of consequence", only then will we recognize our moral and social responsibilities in life. St. Exupery's delightful sketches enhance our literary pleasure. Perhaps you will regard the stars (and roses) differently after reading this.
