Rating: Summary: The Best Book Ever! Review: It's a book that reminds us where we come from. It shows us how to remain creative, thinking human beings--and how to avoid turning into calculating zombie/machines. It keeps us on track in a world riddled with networks of misleading crossroads. But, beware, stick to the original translation. The new translation is, in my opinion, a mistake: if something works, it needs no fixing!
Rating: Summary: Wonderful book for children. Review: I bought this book as a gift and I am very pleased. I found it interesting even for an adult. The book is recommened for 9-12 year olds but is fine for a little older child. I highly recommened this book.
Rating: Summary: Everyone ought to read this book Review: I have nothing to say except for the fact that this is THE MOST BEAUTFUL BOOK I ever read. I don't particularly like this book being categorised as a children's book because that would take away so much from it. I first read an excerpt from this book in my English text book in 7th grade but I have got myself a copy & read the book only now at age 18 and I think this is the kind of book that I'll keep coming back to over the years to remind me that what is actually beautiful is invisible......and lots more that one forgets as one gets older.........
Rating: Summary: My Favorite Book Review: I just wanted to say that this is my favorite book. I treasure my first copy that got from my auntie Lurdinha for my 10th birthday. I've read it throughout my life at different ages (10-14-20) and it has always been a wonderful read.I am going to give it to my kids.
Rating: Summary: A Grown-up Message hidden in a Children's Tale Review: I will always thank my high school English teacher for having our College Prep class read this book. It's moving and thought-provoking! A true treasure that everyone should read.
Rating: Summary: Whimsical images leave the complacent adult breathless Review: Though the book sounds as if it was meant for younger readers, I am convinced that Antoine wrote the book for us. Adults. It seems that too many times we lose sight of the wonder and beauty of life. Antoine uses the Little Prince character to open our hearts. The world desensitizes us to the simple pleasures that are around us. We are conditioned to think that money and possessions are what will make us happiest. Many of us live our whole lives in pursuit of a that dream. The Little Prince simply needs his rose to show him that this illusion will never make anyone happy. To me, the pilot of the plane represents the lost child within us that is starving for whimsy and wonder, that longs to be free to imagine and create uninhibited. The Little Prince shows us that all is not lost, if you simply know that in your lifelong search for happiness, you have already found what you are looking for.
Rating: Summary: poetry, poetry and philosophy Review: I am French, and very glad to read that so many American people do apreciate this book. But please, don't be so American, don't write tons of sentences about it. The only words that could describe it are : a delicate alchemy between drawings, poetry and philosophy. That's enough... Now, you can just read it again and again.
Rating: Summary: A letter to his best friend Review: I read this book as a child, as a high school student, and I still read it even now. The more I read, the more clearly it speaks to my soul and imaginations. "TO LEON WERTH when he was a little boy." During the WWII, Saint-Exupery was in the United States, and his best friend Werth, jewish, was in France where he would be killed by Nazis any moment. Saint-Exupery was concerned about his friend and wrote The Little Prince as a message for his friend, as well as for the people who suffered the war. Beyond this story, there is the author's faith in his frindship: its hope and its encouragement. As we lose our youth, we also tend to lose vivid imaginations and innocence. We often fail to notice what is truly important to our lives. The Little Prince is a beautiful book which helps us appreciate things around us more and realize that this world is infinitily hopeful.

Rating: Summary: A great book! Review: I first read The Little Prince my freshman year in high school and I thought it was just plain confusing. Then, later that year, my school chose The Little Prince for the spring play. I tried out and got the part of the prince. This is when I really and truly understood the story. I then reread the book and it was absolutely fantastic. So for all of you who read it once and thought it was confusing, READ IT AGAIN! IT'S A GOOD BOOK!
