Summary: This book is essential reading for both parents and nannies.
Review: As a professional nanny, I found the information in this book to be an accurate account of what every qualified nanny expects and what every parent needs to know to hire the right nanny. The suggested characteristics of both nannies and parents described by the authors were fair and will make the hiring process easier for all involved. The authors recognize that it is just as difficult for the nannies to find the right families as it is for the parents to find the perfect nanny. I found this book to be very helpful through this process.

Summary: Best Childcare Resource on the Market!
Review: Finding a nanny was an amazing amount of work. I had no idea where to start. This step by step book gave me the insight I needed to choose the best nanny for my daughter. I am recommending this to all my friends.

Summary: You'll Never Need Another "Nanny Book"!
Review: I am proud to lend my support to the kind of intelligent tool my parents insist upon. Does it replace an agency? Not for our families. An agency is not just a place to get a pool of names. When you use an agency you should be purchasing a rare commodity, expertise. The judgement that allows the placement professional to quickly separate the diamond from the cubic zirconia. This expertise, coupled with the sound scientific foundation upon which this test was created and book written, will provide you with the best tools possible to select a superb nanny for your child. Essential for do-it-yourselfers, too. If you can afford it, I urge to employ the most experienced agency you can find that specializes in the type of nanny you need (live-in or out, new or experienced, nanny school certified or college degreed, etc.). Our nannies, for instance, specialize in nurturing the gifted child. Bravo Dr. Pick!

Summary: A must for family planning
Review: My wife and I are making plans to start a family and one of our major concerns has been child care. We are both marketing professionals and plan to continue our carreers, but the added stress of leaving our child with a stranger has been the source of many long debates with our friends and family. We have heard countless stories, both good and bad, with regard to finding and retaining the right nanny. A couple we know recommended we read "Are you hiring the right nanny" and take the guess work out of who has the right system. They were right! This book makes a difference. It's an easy read, complete, and provides the tools to make informed decisions.

Summary: I whole heartedly reccommend this book!
Review: The experience of becoming a mother was such an overwhelming and joyful one. The thought of leaving my baby with anyone but family seemed terrifying. I chose to work with one of the best nanny agencies in my area. I didn't find this book until after I hired my nanny. It would have been such a helpful tool to have. However, this book has pertinent information on not only hiring a nanny but keeping the one you have. Our nanny took the IPS test and passed with flying colors, which has given me an incredible peace of mind. The result breakdown is easy to understand. I was able to pinpoint my nanny's strengths and weaknesses ( of though I have to admit are few). My son is such a wonderful gift. I feel so blessed to have such an incredible woman taking care of him. My husband and I want nothing more than to give our son a constant loving care- provider in our absence; with many of the recommendations in this book, I am confident we can offer our nanny the job security she needs to be with us for a long time.If you are considering this book, I wholeheartedly reccommend it!

Summary: I'll never let a friend hire a nanny without this book!!!!
Review: This book has the best nanny application I have ever seen!!! I wish I had this book when I hired my first nanny 10 years ago. I learned more about the top applicants I interviewed with this book then I learned about some nannies who worked for me a year. The Personnel Attitude Questionnaire helped me understand the strengths and weakness of my top applicants. The background Investigation was fast and easy. I could have saved myself a lot of time money and stress in the last 10 years with the job description form alone!!! I will be giving this book at baby showers from now on!

Summary: Nannies highly rated!
Review: This is a wonderful book for family! I have graduated from "The English Nanny and Governess School" in Chagrin Falls, OH, and have found that this book is acurate and useful for both parents and nannies. With the bad rap many nannies are taking through media, I'm pleased that this book gives nannies the recognition they deserve. Many work long hours and want to be dedicated to the child and the family. It helps to know what to look for in a nanny so that she may stick around for quite a long time. The child will appreciate his mommy and daddy taking time to read this before hiring anyone to take care of his/her daily needs. You won't regret buying this book!

Summary: This is "must have" information
Review: We all ask ourselves if we are providing the best care for our children when we are not able to be with them ourselves. By reading this book, you can be confident that you have the tools necessary to identify the right choice for your family.

Summary: This is a great tool to help find a childcare giver.
Review: We are grandparents. Our daughter has a two and a half year old son and is expecting another child soon. She plans to return to work after the new baby is born. We saw the book 'Am I Hiring the Right Nanny?' on the Internet and ordered it for her. We read the book and were very impressed. Some things we knew from experience and common sense, but this book really gave us some great practical and professional hints and advice. We gave the book to our daughter and she is putting it to good use. She has written an ad for the newspaper using the suggestions in the book, has received several replies, has conducted some interviews, again using suggestions from the book, and plans to use the nanny test and probably will use the background investigation offered in the book before making a final decision on a care giver for our grandchildren. We think the book 'Am I Hiring the Right Nanny?' is an excellent tool and we have recommended it to several of our friends, both grandparents and parents. A grandpa.
