Rating: Summary: This really works! Review: Over ten years ago, my former company hired Dr. Imrie to reduce the back injury incidents at their manufacuring plant. Having suffered thru the pain, legal problems, financial problems .... etc., I approached the invitation with skepticism. I followed this program with desperation as nothing else was working. It is not an instant fix, rather it is life commitment (kind of like brushing your teeth everyday). The book explains why your back is hurting, what can be done about it, what can't be done about it, and how to overcome the obstacle of debilitating pain and go on to lead a healthy active life. It takes time (8 min. a day) but it leads to an injury resistant back. Companies who are looking for looking for Occupational Injury prevention should take a second look at this program. I am noting for the record, although having met Dr. Imrie and particpated in his workshop, I am not affiliated or in anyway connected to or profiting from this book. On a personal note, I think it is really funny and quite sad to try to help someone mired in the cycle of pain and debilitation along with the accompanying "quick fixes", pain reliever addiction, alcoholism, self-pity and on and on..., to try to help them with the techniques this book offers and hear them say, "I can't do that!" The difference between this book and the other many books I purchased on back injuries is not the exercises, they are all very similar. Rather Dr. Imrie focuses on the HOW to do them. This one very simple technique makes all the difference between effectiveness and just doing exercises by rote with no results.
