Rating: Summary: Wisdom and Laughter Review: Sunny and the Chocolate Dog represent that rare combination: wisdom and laughter. This delightful book echos a poignant and common childhood experience: the advent of a new sibling. Sunny's experiences gently show kids that it's OK to be uncertain and a little worried...you just have to work through it. The two dogs go through this time of transition with realistic behaviors, humor, and lots and lots of love from their adoring "parents." The ultimate happy resolution is the natural outgrowth of their personalities and the strong loving values of their human family. I loved this book and when I gave it to a 7 year old friend, she read it immediately, ran to tell her parents all about it, then sat down and read it again.
Rating: Summary: It takes time for the two canines to get to know one another Review: Sunny Meets Her Baby Sister is a picture book in Susie Neimark's "Sunny & the Chocolate Dog" series. Sunny is a frisky yellow Labrador who has to adjust to the antics of a playful puppy that her loving parents choose to be her new sibling. It takes time for the two canines to get to know one another, yet the rewards of forging a relationship are beyond measure in this charming story which is enhanced with Kent Hammerstrom's cheerful illustrations. Also very highly recommended is the Neimark and Hammerstrom companion title: Sunny & The Chocolate Dog Go To The Beach...
Rating: Summary: Sunny & Chocolate are a big hit Review: What a great book - my 8 year old could not put it down. This was the first time that he actual brought a book with him during a car ride so that he could finish the story.
