Summary: Current and Hopeful
Review: After a diagnosis of COPD and/or asthma, I did what I always do. I set out to learn as much as possible. This is a wonderful, comprehensive and hopeful book. I have checked much of the info with my pulmonary MD and he too was most impressed and is suggesting it to patients. It is written in understandable terms, with a fine resources section. I learned a lot, and felt a bit more in control of this disease. Because if you give in, it will "git ya". Well done!

Summary: A most comprehensive book and helpful for many ailments
Review: As a physician, I'm always looking for books that explain diseases to patients--but that are comprehensive and easy-to-read. Breathe Right Now fits the bill. It describes the most common breathing problems in a manner that my patients can understand and gives easy, practical ways in which they can take control of their environment and their health. Superb chapter on exercise and stress!! I'm recommending to all of my allergy, asthma, and COPD patients in my clinics.

Summary: This book puts asthma in its proper perspective!
Review: Breathe Right Now! is right to the point. Dr.Smolley puts asthma in its proper perspective and provides a fine analysis of what causes breathing problems and how to approach a realistic solution to these problems. Thank you Dr. Smolley and the other contributors!

Summary: BUY THE BOOK IF YOU HAVE ALLERGIES/ASTHMA/SINUSITIS
Review: Couldn't breathe. Bought this book. Showed my doctor who changed all my medications. That was six months ago. TODAY? I BREATHE so well that I'm training for the NY marathon. It's hard for me to believe that getting the RIGHT medication can be crucial for allergy and asthma. But I'm a believer.

Summary: It's springtime, and I can breathe!!!
Review: For 12 years I have choked and coughed from springtime pollen. The information in this book was helpful in letting me know to take meds BEFORE I am hit in the face with pollen. For the first time, I do not have a sinus infection!! Thank you, Dr. Smolley and Bruce.

Summary: Buy this book!
Review: I have had allergies since birth--and never have felt good until I did the things written in this book. An excellent book on why allergies happen and what you can do--today--to stop them. I took the book to my doctor and she changed my medication to include steroid nasal inhalers. This helped me go through two pollen seasons without missing any work. SUPERB!!

Summary: Excellent, easy-to-understand book on breathing problems
Review: I have sinusitis and asthma, and my children have the same. We have suffered for too many years according to this book. It enlightened me to learn that my sinus drainage actually triggers asthma--thus, I have learned to stay on top of sinus infections and post nasal drip--to END ASTHMA. It works. Dr. Smolley is brilliant. The book is a must read for any parent or person with allergies, asthma, sinusitis or other lung disease. Read it--and do what he says--it will change your life the way it has ours.

Summary: NO MORE ASTHMA
Review: I live in Georgia and pollen season normally makes me dependent on my inhaler. I read BREATHE RIGHT NOW and started the new medication, Accolate, as described in the book. Now I take two pills (Accolate) a day, along with my Azmacort Inhaler, to PREVENT asthma. No more wheezing--no congestion--no flares. My doctor had not used this drug on patients and I was her first one. But now she is prescribing it to all patients with asthma. A true LIFESAVING BOOK that talks about prevention of problems and how to manage these so you can have a LIFE!!!!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Comprehensive and well-written for readers
Review: I was surprised by how easy to understand this book was--while I've never understood how asthma works, I do now. The chapter on exercise and asthma/allergy motivated me to start swimming and lift weights to rebuild endurance. I have no problems swimming and have enjoyed the "aerobic" benefit. Super book--wish I'd had this years ago.

Summary: I can now breathe--thanks to this awesome book.
Review: I've had allergic rhinitis all my life. Recently I've developed asthma. My doctor has been treating each of these ailments separately. A friend gave me BREATHE RIGHT NOW for my birthday last month. Once I opened it, I could not put it down. It is the only book that tells how the nose and lungs are all related. I've read about sinobronchial syndrome and it sounded exactly like what I have, so I showed this to my doctor. He was also amazed. We started to treat my condition differently--using preventive measures like steroid nasal sprays to stop the constant drip. I have not had an asthma attack in several weeks--and it's pollen season. Thank you for this book.
