Summary: A wonderful book for a very painful subject
Review: I am a mother of two, and recently had a miscarriage. This was the most traumatic, painful time of my life. It is a topic that most people don't discuss. Husbands are supportive, but not entirely understanding to how hard this will affect a woman. This book gave me insight into what was happening with my body, why this was happening to me, and how I can possibly go on to consider conceiving another child. I highly recommend this book to any woman who is faced with this very difficult, painful loss of a child.

Summary: There have to be better books on miscarriage...
Review: I bought this book after a recent miscarriage, I needed answers. I started to read this book but found the repeated phrases of, "any woman who has a miscarriage...should consider the possibility that it signals potential fertility problems for the future", more painful than my own thoughts. My doctor assures me that the problems was chromosomal. I wanted a book to answer my questions to show me there was hope. This book has me wondering what exactly is wrong with me, definitly not the help I was looking for. The only thing it did have was validation for the feelings of loss that I was having.

Summary: Reasons for the book and some readers' comments.
Review: I decided to write this book in the middle of my second successful pregnancy after several miscarriages. I finally knew the meaning of loneliness, and it made me compassionate. I wanted to tell women who have miscarried that there is someone who shares their sorrow. Miscarriage is about motherhood. It happens to women who want to be mothers. It is tragic because they have planned for and dreamed of their child. Their desire for a child will get them through this and give them the will to try again. I wrote this book to let women who miscarry know they are not alone; to offer them sympathy and support; to explain as clearly as possible the causes of miscarriage; and to give women the information they need to have realistic expectations for their next pregnancy. Many readers have written me sad and wonderful letters about their experiences and what they have gotten from this book. From Pennsylvania, M.G. writes, "My eyes caught your book and I never put it down until I got pregnant again. Your book hit on so many things I was feeling and experiencing such as: friends, family and even my doctor never saying the right things. Your book also helped me to move on and focus on trying to get pregnant again." From Ohio, B.W. writes, "Thank you for such a wonderful gift. You have let me know that everything I am feeling and have felt is natural."

Summary: The BEST book on miscarriage I read
Review: I got this book the day my OBGYN gave me the misoprostal to induce a miscarriage. After 2 years of infertility treatments my husband and I were devastated to learn our baby had died in utero at 11 weeks. Ms. Diamond's book helped me to heal and move on. The clear explanations helped me to understand the miscarriage and gave me concrete reasons that made sense to my head. Ms. Diamond's book also helped my heart by explaining to me that I wasn't alone (I thought I was) and that miscarriage doesn't make you less a woman.

I think this book ought to be recommended by every OBGYN or Family Practice doctor who deals with patients who have miscarriages.

Summary: This is a book of healing!!
Review: I purchased Motherhood... 2 weeks after my miscarriage and I wished I had gotten it sooner. I needed every word of the book so badly because I was seeking answers and solutions and no one could really help me. This book has aided me in healing. I had one successful pregnancy and never imagined in a million years that I would have a miscarriage during my 2nd pregnancy. Thanks to Ms. Diamond ( a true diamond indeed) for the gift of knowledge she has given to all women!!

Summary: a must read for anyone who has had a miscarriage
Review: I read this book after experiencing my first miscarriage. It became my bible in understanding why this happened to me. The book gives detailed information as to the several known causes for miscarriage and also discussed the emotional side of loosing a pregancy. The author also encourages women to try again to get pregnant because if indeed there is a problem most doctors will not do anything until you have experienced at least three. The author writes in a very sympathetic but straighforward manner and really helped me to find the courage to try again.
